Adam Hammill urged to prosper
Saturday 22nd January 2011, 11:29AM GMT.
Wolves’ new-boy Adam Hammill has been told he must “hit the ground running” to confirm his potential.
Winger Hammill, who is 23 on Tuesday, became Wolves’ first signing of the winter transfer window on Thursday when he signed a three-and-a-half year deal in a £500,000 switch from Barnsley.
The former Liverpool youngster is anxious to make a name for himself after being released from today’s opponents without playing a game.
Hammill has already scored eight goals in the Championship this season and arrives looking to compete with Matt Jarvis and Stephen Hunt, who believes he will be an asset.
“He seems to be doing well, but there’s a gap from the Championship to the Premier League so he’ll have to hit the ground running, which I’m sure he will do,” said Hunt.
“He’s definitely got ability because I saw him in cup games last season when he was curling shots in and doing jinky runs.
“He can play on the left, the right or behind the front two, so he will be useful to have. He likes to please the
crowd.”
