Wolves ponder Guirane N’Daw move

Wolves have powerful Senegal midfielder Guirane N’Daw back on their radar – but need convincing whether he is worth signing on loan.

But they are extremely cautious about whether the 6ft 3ins anchorman is ready for the Premier League, after making just five appearances in France’s top flight this season, and want to assess him in a week’s training first.

A report in France claimed Wolves officials were in talks to sign the 26-year-old, after watching N’Daw make a 20-minute substitute’s appearance for Saint-Etienne in a 2-1 defeat against Lens last Saturday.

N’Daw’s coach at St Etienne, Christophe Galtier said yesterday: “He may leave before the end of next week.”

Wolves, who have returned to France to scout recently, backed out of a move to take N’Daw last summer.

But, since then, the former Sochaux and Nantes anchorman has made just two starts after making 34 appearances last term.

After losing out on Steve Sidwell, Wolves have been linked with Tottenham’s Jamie O’Hara – who is believed to want to stay in London – and Ipswich’s Grant Leadbitter.
