Matt Jarvis ready to return for Wolves
Fit-again Wolves winger Matt Jarvis has handed manager Mick McCarthy a selection dilemma for the Boxing Day clash against Wigan.
Fit-again Wolves winger Matt Jarvis has handed manager Mick McCarthy a selection dilemma for the Boxing Day clash against Wigan.
Jarvis (knee) was one of three doubts for Sunday's postponed Black Country derby with Christophe Berra (thigh) and Stephen Hunt (bug). All were subsequently declared fit.
Wide man Jarvis will now be ready for Sunday's survival showdown at Molineux and his availability means McCarthy must decide whether to recall the in-form England hopeful, who has probably been Wolves' best player this season.
Hunt is in scoring form after two goals in three games and David Edwards is fit again on the right flank, while the team impressed in the 1-0 win against Birmingham last time out.
Jarvis said: "It gives the gaffer plenty to think about ahead of the next match in terms of his selection.
"I had worked all week to be fit and everyone wanted the game to be played, particularly as it's such a big one for fans and everyone.
"We'll just look forward to it when it's re-arranged. It's given some of us another week's training to make sure we're 100 per cent and ready to go for the weekend.
"The lads put a fantastic display in against Birmingham and got a much-needed result.
"It's a squad game - particularly over Christmas when there are so many fixtures in such a short space of time. Hopefully we'll have a few more players ready now.
"We've got a very good squad and everyone is ready to do their bit."
Jarvis insisted Wolves must make Molineux a fortress with Wigan, Blackpool, Albion, Fulham and Blackburn still to visit this season.
He said: "Every game is big now. Wigan are next to us in the table and we'll be looking for a positive result at home. Our home form has been good in recent weeks and we need to make Molineux a fortress.
"We have played well away from home without getting results and still feel we'll get those over the second half of the season.
"But you always want to do well in front of your home fans and we've got another chance on Boxing Day."
