Wolves’ Matt Hill breaks his foot

Wolves defender Matt Hill has returned from a loan spell at Barnsley after breaking his foot.

The 29-year-old left-back, who was due to stay with the Championship club for another fortnight, returned to Compton for a scan yesterday which revealed a hairline fracture.

Hill managed to play all of Saturday’s 1-1 home draw with Hull after sustaining the injury on his debut against Coventry the week before.

It was thought the injury was bad bruising, but the scan revealed worse and Hill saw a specialist this afternoon.

Barnsley manager Mark Robins said: “Matt’s got a hairline fracture.

“It looks like he’s going to be out for three or four weeks.”
