Joleon Lescott eyes a Wolves return
Joleon Lescott has left the door open for a shock return to Wolves if he is frozen out at Manchester City.
Joleon Lescott has left the door open for a shock return to Wolves if he is frozen out at Manchester City.
The defender, reportedly unhappy after being dropped for the 3-0 defeat to Arsenal last weekend, would seriously consider a comeback should he have to quit Eastlands.
Lescott could face Wolves when City travel to Molineux tomorrow but has found chances limited this season and has made just five Premier League appearances.
And, with Kolo Toure and Vincent Kompany ahead of him, the former Wolves star admitted he would be keen on a Molineux return if he failed to net a regular City place.
Lescott, who made 235 appearances for Wolves before a £5million switch to Everton in 2006, was at Molineux last night for the annual Wolves academy dinner and still holds an affection for his former club.
He said: "If the situation was right I would always come back. Wolves have been a massive part of my life.
"I plied my trade there, I've got a lot of very close friends behind the scenes and if the opportunity was there I'd definitely come back.
"I'm a City player and I'm fully focused on them but if the situation changed then I'd love to play for Wolves, I'd always love to play for Wolves."
