Wolves boost as Tevez ruled out of Molineux clash

Wolves were handed a boost today when Carlos Tevez was ruled out of Manchester City’s Premier League trip to Molineux.

The City skipper has been given permission to fly home to Argentina for a four-day break amid concerns at Manchester City about the striker being homesick.

Tevez has been given special dispensation to see his family in Buenos Aires after a scan revealed the injury that forced him out of Sunday’s 3-0 home defeat by Arsenal is worse than first anticipated.

The initial diagnosis was a dead leg but further tests have shown he might be out for two weeks. He is expected to replaced by £25m forward Mario Balotelli at Molineux.

Meanwhile, sidelined Wolves club captain Jody Craddock is expecting a battle to reclaim his place at the centre of the Wolves defence when he returns from a thigh injury.

Craddock has pencilled in the home game against Bolton on November 13 for his return but he is taking nothing for granted as he steps up his rehab.

“It’s the same as usual for me – competition is great for the club and when I’m fit again I’ll be fighting for my place the same as ever. But, like everyone here, I just want the team to do well.”

n Wolves’ Premier League home game against Liverpool on Saturday, January 22, has been brought forward to a 12.45pm kick off to accomodate live coverage on Sky.

“It’s difficult to know exactly when I’ll be back – hopefully in a week or two weeks

Reduces their ability a little, but we should concentrate on getting our team ready for the clash rather than depend on issues in their camp, especially as the replacement will be as good.

With Mad Micks selections and tactics the only way Wolves can beat Man City is if they don’t turn up.

If we were facing most other teams, losign their star striker may well affect them, but we all know Man city can just bring in another one of theire multi million pound strikers. Its going to be another extremely difficult game even without Tevez, but theres no doubt we will have some morons on here declaring Mick should go because we couldnt even beat Man city without their star forward.

Should be an easy three points then! I was having a look on the Man City website and there is a nice tribute by Joleon to Terry Connor that some people on here could read.

Just watched the highlights of the Man U game again and if I was the manager and saw the way Jones was jogging back for the Man U goals I would drop him. In fact if he has not signed a contarct why are we persisting on playing him?

We’ll have to pay compensation to get Ince in now – perhaps an exchange of Mad Mick and Clipboard will suit Notts County??

Joking aside, Tevez not playing is great news for Wolves. Balotelli is an overrated donkey.

We need 3 points from this game to keep us in touch.

Tevez is a quality player and an obvious threat but Balotelli will start with Adebayor so we will still have our work cut out!

We need to be tight but remain positive as we are at home and a positive result coupled with key players returning ca easily turn a season around:

    8) A decent team but although Fletcher works well in tandem with SEB, he did not cover himself in glory Tuesday night. Another observation would be that after Tuesday, Elokobi deserves a shirt. Van Damme cannot complete 90 minutes! You can also say that Berra did not put a foot wrong. There is no doubt who was at fault for the goals conceded against Man Utd, step forward Jones and Mancienne!
Man City have only been scraping victories and there back four is a bit ropey. The dangermen will be Silva and Johnson. On the evidence of the last two performances – they were not a Man Utd youth team as £60-70m worth of signings were playing – we could get a win or draw on Saturday.

No 14. You are spot on about ‘Jones and Mancienne’ i said yesterday Jones was poor he either gets caught in possesion to easily by going round in circles with the ball at his feet, or he passes short balls to other players who are marked or have players breathing down their necks? and his arms are always flying around like a birds ‘wings’. Has for Mancienne he’s to weak for CH or holding Midfilder, as he cant tackle very good, never wins the ball, his passing is poor, id only play him at LB, if i had to play him at all. He looked a class player in the Championship?. But im afraid you can see why Chelsea dont play him or dont even want him?. Both players were guilty in both the 2nd/3rd goals. And as Jones doesn’t want to sign for us why are we playing him? When Milijas is a far better player, he looks fitter now and more ‘IMPORTANTLY WANTS TO PLAY FOR WWFC’. UTW

Wolves scored enough goals to have won the match, unfortunately, the Wolves went to sleep. Does any ony one tell the players that when they lose the ball, they have run back and put themselves between the opposition and the ball. Although Elokobi has played well, he has problems when he has to turn and Jones just has not got the pace.

    E. Blake looked the part in his positioning but he does not appear to able to read the game quick enough, but he gave his all. . Again, there was improvemnt in Berra, but he did start to try and dance with his opponents and that will be his down fall

Let us not forget that Hennessey is starting to look his old self. But he must learn to order his defence into whatever is necessary and not look embarrassed about marshalling his defenders when it is required. It will be hard v Man City , the Wolves will have to run until they drop and get up and start running again.
Please Mr Henry, if you play, pass the ball quickly and accurately and cut out the judo moves.

Not sure about those who are thinking Elokobi is a good choice for this game against Adam Johnstone? Mancienne should be used as a full back (think that’s his position for Chelsea) and could fair well against him, across the back with Foles Berra and Molo who played promising against Man U! Why can MM not think of adaptable tactics like a 4-4-1-1 which easily switches to 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 using any combination of Doyle, Seb or Fletch? Agree Jones looked a little slow against Man U!!

What a state of affairs when our “job done/mission acomplished” team needs to rely on the opposition being injured.

Will Dopey Doyle manage to get into double figures? Will his £6.5 mill buy us a goal this season? Will Clipboard look like he is in control? What will Muppet have to say on Match of the Day?

Let’s face it. £30 mill has been spent on a bunch of useless lumber who either sit on the bench, are out on loan or at home. After spending all that cash the club is mainly using the players it had in the Championship

Can we have a word from Moxey the wise on this situation? Is Mr Morgan still with us? Is he willing to give Muppet another £30 million to throw away on rubbish? Does he still have confidence in Muppet?

We need a statement from the management by the end of the week but I wager we won’t get one. Not to worry, keep turning up and handing over your cash.
