Adlene Guedioura vows to fight back

Tuesday 28th September 2010, 11:00AM BST.

Wolves midfielder Adlene Guedioura has vowed to be back playing in the Premier League this season and insisted he will return stronger from his broken leg.

The 24-year-old was back at Compton yesterday with his entire left leg in plaster and is contemplated his four to six-month absence from the team, after fracturing his tibia in Sunday’s 2-1 derby defeat to Villa.

But Guedioura, who was stretchered off after a challenge by midfielder Steve Sidwell, is already looking on the bright side.

He said: “It depends on how my recovery goes but I hope to play again this season. I think I’ll be stronger mentally and I’ll work hard physically.

“What’s happened is sad, but I’m not down about it because I know I’ll come back stronger.

“I’ve got time to work hard and when I come back I’ll do my best to fight for Wolves again.

“We’ve got a really good medical staff here to help.”

The midfielder also bears no malice towards Sidwell.

Guedioura said: I don’t think he wanted to injure me – he wanted to get the ball and it wasn’t malicious.

“I don’t bear him any bad feelings – he was trying to win the ball.”

Guedioura, who is still suffering some pain, faces four weeks in plaster but won’t need any surgery before beginning his rehabilitation.

He said: “It doesn’t feel too bad – I’m OK. I have to look forward.

“I love football but now I’ve got to rest for the next few weeks.”

The Algeria international revealed he has been inspired by Djibril Cisse, who made a full recovery after breaking fibula and tibia in a horrific accident in 2004.

He said: “I look at someone like Djibril Cisse who’s had two bad injuries and was out for six or seven months and now he’s back playing again in Greece, so I have no worries.

Guedioura thanked his team-mates as well as staff at Wolverhampton’s New Cross hospital for their support.

He said: “Everyone has supported me and I appreciate that a lot – all the lads have wished me all the best.

“The staff at New Cross were all superb – they were very helpful.”

At least now Mick has an actual palpable reason for not playing Adlene, rather than a variety of inexplicable ones that somehow involve playing Dave Edwards et al ahead of him.

He injects some real quality to the team when he come on, and isnt afraid to make a tackle, Its a shame about the injury as i feel he was nearing that first team league start, but im sure he will be back fitter stronger and ready to get that first team place. Its funny how this was one of the players that people was fuming over when mick signed him on loan last season, and now most of those same people were fuming that Mick wasnt starting him, thats how fickle some fans are.

With a couple of ‘easier’ games coming up, maybe time for Mujanji to take his place on the bench. Henry and Mancienne holding the midfield, with Jarvo and Mudge getting round the back??

Adlene Guedioura is our best player but take your time for a full recovery mate cause Mick only plays negative and his favourite players..
Won’t be a big loss to our team as he never plays him..
Shame on you Mick, we have spent over 30 million on playes yet we still play with the championship team..
Change your ways mick before its too late..
Ward should never play for Wolves again and how he can pick edwards before Guedioura i will never know…

All the best Adlene, lets hope you make a speedy recovery, and see back where you belong, playing for WWFC. I hope also when you do get back MM plays you from the start,as your my type of midfielder up and in their faces, a player who’s not afraid to shoot from 30yds, like the old ‘Kenny Hibbit’ type of player. Thats the highest compliment i can pay you Adlene. GET WELL/FIT SOON. UTW

All the best to Adlene in his recovery, although he will be playing in the Championship by the time he returns.

    Jez should be doing what he is paid to do – sack Mick and go and get Ince to inspire some life into this team and clear out the deadwood from Sunday;

    Berra – lead boots
    Craddock – grandad
    Ward – shambles
    Foley – snail
    Hanhemann – too old
    Henry – crab
    Jones – clueless
    Jarvis – one dimensional
Fletcher – waste of time and money
    Edwards – brainless

all the best mate hope to see you back soon and i totally agree with a few comment why play dave edwards ahead of this lad! He is not afraid to have a shot he loves going forward can pick out a good pass and a brill tackler and gets stuck in!

i hope from sunday mick can see that stephen ward is the weak link how many times did villa attack down the left the first goal was a cross from the left and the thing was ward just stood back and let albrighton cross it he has no pace and does not no how to tackle! not even just villa though most teams are attacking us down the left knowing ward is our weak link!
open your eyes mick and drop your beloved pet!

hopefully when hunt is fit he plays van damme at left back hunt on left and jarvo on right!

The players we have are sub standard at best. That is not their Fault but we did not buy any real quality in the Summer . We have pinned our hopes on three decent players that got relegated last season. One of whon has not played as was injured and just coming back, the other is injured long term and will be out another 6 weeks or so ( my opinnion we will do well to see him this side of Christmas) and a Striker who is put on the wing put on the bench and then starts a game here and there. All in all we are going to struggle.

All the best in your recovery lets hope its a full and speedy one,…is it just me that thinks that because his time has been so limited on the pitch he tries to do everything some do in 90mins in the 10-15mins he’s on the pitch? and I also feel that his desire to prove MM that he deserves a start also contributed to the injury…Can anyone tell me how the hell Dave Edwards got fast tracked back into the tean ahead of Adlene…its beyond a joke…. im not blaming MM for the injury, just that Adlene’s desire to prove his worth means he never stops or pulls out of anything in the limited time he is on the pitch.

    bobwolf.
hahnemenn is a great keeper, commands his box, catches, punches and spreads him self. he’s better than hennessey who is good but lacks the confidence in box commanding.
henry is a great player at breaking play up, not all midfielders have to be a zidane or figo.
jarvis is the best winger we’ve had in recent history play for us, maybe competition when kites and hunt are back.
fletcher is clever and scores goals, any striker that can score is worth money as they are paid for that.
you go on about crad and berra, bet you preferred paul butler daidn’t ya…

i was absolutely gutted about this news but then i thought to myself (well am i ? really?) yes he is energetic, good in the tackle, decent passer & posseses a rocket in a shot but whats the point in all that when we dont get to see him injured or not! so what are we missing? 10mins here n there when a game is done & we desperately need something? I wish you all the best in ur recovery son, & with any luck when you return there will be someone in charge that knows you are one of our best players! MM’s decision to choose edwards (the greatest player on earth without the ball) over adlene was his most shocking decisions to date, and there has been a few! if i was Adlene i would have been fuming!

At every given chance the championship side gets used, and when on earth is he going to realise they are not good enough!

ward is a joke nice guy or not!

foley is to slow & can only hoof the same angled ball everytime.

berra cannot jump or mark someone without trying to wrestle them

edwards is the best player we have if you never give him the ball

fletcher is being used everywhere but his correct position

doyle looks fed up with having no one with him up top

henry is only good when you have someone in with him who can pass forward as he is unable

stearman has just lost the plot

elokobi i rate as a defender but once the ball has been won u can forget his distribution

im not slagging here just telling it how it is as i see it!

what is halford still doing at club? same goes for milijas (he obviously wont play him)

lets hope the injured players coming back give us a bit of quality because at the mo i can see us struggling! big time!

16 – You think Fletcher is a waste of money? Clueless. Are you actually a Wolves fan? Because the constant rubbish you come out with is at times laughable. Whats with all the negativity with some people. And if you genuinely think Paul Ince could do a better job than Mick, then you should get yourself an appointment with the Doctor ASAP.

A shame for Guedioura, a massive loss for us this season. Milijas needs to get back to full fitness as quickly as possible.

No 2 why why why can’t people see bob wolf is a Albion fan trying to mock wolves,it’s best to just ignore his posts, I have no idea why the e&s let him and Terry post on out page? You try to put one negative thing About albion on their page and the e&s won’t show it.
