Karl Henry warns of ‘ferocious’ derby

Captain Karl Henry today warned Villa and new boss Gerard Houllier of a ‘ferocious’ derby as Wolves look to get back to winning ways in the Premier League.
Wolves return to Molineux for their first all-West Midlands showdown of the season on Sunday, after back-to-back away defeats despite taking the lead at Fulham and Tottenham.
And skipper Henry said they are determined to put things right.
He said: “Sunday’s game is going to be ferocious and one we’re all looking forward to after the two defeats we’ve suffered where we’ve taken the lead.
“We’ve been gutted to come away with nothing against two good teams.
“We need to bounce back and it’s a great game to do that in.”
Henry warned his own team-mates that Villa’s players are going to be anxious to impress new boss Houllier, especially after kicking off the new era with a 3-1 Carling Cup win over Blackburn in midweek.
The midfielder said: “They’re going to be flying and wanting to impress the manager and we want to get back to winning ways.
“It makes for a great game. It’s the same every time a new gaffer comes in. Everyone steps their game up and it will be a clean slate for them.
“They’ll all want to get in the team or stay in the team, so they’ll be bang at it.”
But Henry is confident Wolves can be a match for their illustrious neighbours.
He said: “We had two good games against them last season – two good draws – and I think it’s going to be a fantastic game and one where both teams have got something to prove.
“They’ll be working every bit as hard as us.”
Wolves are unbeaten in four home games in all competitions and Henry believes they have addressed their indifferent form in front of their own fans last season.
He said: “We talked about this earlier in the season.
“But so far we’ve got four points from two games at Molineux and we want to keep that going.”
