Kevin Doyle has shrugged off speculation over his future, insisting he’s happy to stay at Wolves.

The £6.5m man has been linked with a big money move to Arsenal but, after helping Ireland to a 3-0 win over Algeria last night, said: “It’s flattering to be linked with these clubs but I’ve no reason to think I won’t be at Wolves next season.

“It was the most satisfying season with Wolves.”

Former Molineux star Robbie Keane scored twice while Paul Green also notched in a comfortable victory over England’s World Cup opponents which was notable for Wolves’ Adlene Guedioura making his debut for his country at right-back. And the midfielder said: “I cannot be pleased with the score. We lost 3-0 but I think it will be good if I play every game in the World Cup and if it is at right-back or another position it will be good.”

And, a few weeks before their clash with England, he added: “Playing against England is special, because I play in England and I know every player. In the World Cup we have a big motivation to beat England, it is special. You never know in football.”

Realistically, Kevin Doyle would take a “big club” move, though he knows it is up to Mick selling him on at a proper fee, which I can Imagine would need to hover in the area of between 14,000,000 and 16,000,000 pounds. Gut feelng tells me he is staying! UTW!

Looks like the “media” are doing their utmost to get Doyle sold – has any club made a formal offer? if not why speculate, you could “speculate” that I am going to win the lottery – but until I do, that’s all it is – speculation.
So to all the media the second word is OFF and go and speculate somewere else.

While I love having you at Wolves and believe that your influence was a large part of the reason we were promoted, and I in no way want you to leave…….lets face it Kev, you would be an absolute ‘plank’ to stay at Wolves, if outfits like Arsenal believe you are worth inclusion in their squad,
And I think that Arsenal will only be the first to show interest in you, I know there will be others during the Summer, and if I were you, for the sake of your career, grab something like this with both hands, and I have no doubt that that is what will happen.

With the ‘Muppet’ still in charge, and a padlock on the purse strings, Wolves will struggle to not only survive, but win a game next season…and when they are relegated, as I have little doubt they will be,your reputation will be ‘shot’.You will be foolish to stay with Wolves, UNLESS, they sign Keane who you play so well with, and a couple of other top notch players. This is not going to happen.
A footballers life is very short, grab it while you can.
Goodbye Kevin Doyle, and thanks for everything you did last Season.

Adlene is a quality signing for us. Although he isn’t a right bk he looked one of their better players last night. He was kenn he get into his club position at times. Just what we needed at wolves. A strong player in the centre with plenty of vision and a right foot that loves to smash one from outside the box.

Nice one Super Kev, that’s music to my ears and I’m sure every other Wolves fan too. You’re a top man and certainly the best striker we have currently. I do think SEB has been great (ok not last season unfortunately)so hopefully a good pre-season with no injuries and competition up front will be fierce, which can only be good for the club.

Maybe we can now put this “will he stay?” debate to bed now. IF we sign Fletcher he will be his partner as I and many others have stated, NOT his replacement as some seem to think. I’d love a comment from a Villa fan on a previous thread to be true. They said that Sidwell is considering moving to us. I know, rumour mill and all that but if true he would be a fantastic signing imo. Intelligent user of the ball as a midfielder and knows how to score too.

    We shall see what happens.

    Up The Wolves.

A top 4 or 5 club would be interested of course but would they pay £15 million? The good news is there a fair few players at home and in europe that will cost roughly the same and in the shop window looking for a move, at the world cub.
All clubs have to balance their books and Doyle would be a big chunk of their budget for a initially a squad player at Arsenal,Liverpool etc. Hears hoping Doyle teams up with Fletcher, Hunt and Jarvis.

    up the wolves!

well hope arsenal have got 15million for him then thats how much hes worth if fletcher is worth 7mill. I reckon doyle will stay anyway, weve allready done the hard thing and thats staying in the prem, we can push on next season. why move arsenal they havent won anything in ages? he’ll be out of place and end up a squad player, will knock his confidence loads.

stay doyle, i think we are going to have a great season next year, if we can just grab a few decent signing and get rid of the dead wood.

13- MINES A PINT… I was making a valid point about Doyle, and my opinion of McCarthy is one that is shared by thousands of Wolves fans.
What other Premiership Manager would pick a side to loose a game..ie versus man.U- ( Wolves were fined over that issue )

What other Manager would mouth profanities to his players and officals alike, often while the match is being televised nation wide.

What other Manager buys players like Halford, solely because of his long throw in’s – or the ‘Hoff’ solely because of the height of the player. He was really given a great chance to prove his football skills !!!!

What other Manager would drag his squad to Australia fo god’s sake for last years pre season.
Australia is very much a 3rd World Country as far as club Football is concerned , and went there only to show off to his long term mate, the current Owner/manager of Perth Glory, and generally ‘big note’ himself.

McCarthy is an arrogant blow hard, who played a hunch with the whole team last year with one up front and ten defending. Keeping a clean sheet rather than win at all costs was the message to our team.
Wolves will be without Doyle next season, and who could blame him, and we are going to have a devil of a job to get a decent striker with McCarthy at the helm.

No my friend, I’m not the ‘dick head’ but when you grow up and pass a mirror, take a good hard look at yourself, and then go to the newspaper to see how Wolves are doing next season playing second tier football under the direction of McCarthy…….

You are a really sad individual, I feel sorry for you.

Wolves, according to Club insiders, have been offered 15 million for Doyle, and 7 million for Jarvis. While this is not to be made official under any circumstances, I am advised that there are two Clubs involved, one for Doyle and the other for Jarvis, and neither , as has been rumoured, is Arsenal.
The word is that Doyle is keen to move on

    17 – you’re wrong – it’s you that’s the idiot.

What an unfortunate individual you are – did mommy not hug you enough when you were young?

You seem to have a serious problem with Mick, I know people who laugh out loud at your raging hatred and the way you always look back and focus on Mick’s mistakes.

When your opinions are as bile-filled and unconstructive as yours they’re invalid.

Open the curtains and go outside occasionally – it’s a beautiful world out there and it might just bring a fraction of happiness into your miserable existence.

All this talk about doyle, He’s happy to stay, wolves are a big club he knows this’ this is why he signed last season, The only thing on his mind is what wolves are prepaired to do to keep him happy at the club? in his own words we need more quality next season meaning this! He wants more freedom and help wich is 100% what any good player wants, I’m 200% sure Steve morgan will do anything to give mick his full backing for the coming season.

The point is wolves are growing at a good pace and it’s looking very good for the future a lot of business sense and planning comes into football now, ok he could play for one the top four but would he enjoy the football there? sitting on the bench gaining weight! I think for one he will see how next season goes at wolves then evaluate his position.

Everything I said in my comments on Mccarthy are fact and are true, It is my opinion:- I am entitled to an opinion as you are, without resulting to abuse, as you have shown to me in your response.

I would ask for a retraction for the abuse contained in your reply, where at least others would respect you for being a man.

I don’t expect it as I suspect you are hiding behind a false name and Email address, and like all ‘pond life oinks’ would not have the guts to admit you were abusive in your reply.

Angry Wolf. Yes you are entitled to your opinion and so is everone else on this site. I cannot believe you are still going on about Man U game, MM did what he thought was right at the time, and rightly or wrongly it worked cause we are still in the Premiership. MM is the best Manager we have had in a long time and us fans cannot agree with him all the time but he is the Manager of Wolves and we are not. He has been here for three years now, take a look at where we were when he took over and where we are today and try not being so angry cause trust me it does not do your health any good. You said to Wordsley Wolf that his comments were abusive to you. Was not your comments abusive to MM. I think you will find that a good many fans have changed their opinion of MM and now trust him.
