The Green and White Army face Wales in the last 16 of Euro 2016 tomorrow after qualifying for the knock-out stages from a tricky group.

There will probably be three Albion players on the pitch because Evans plays alongside Gareth McAuley at the back and Chris Coleman's team have James Chester in defence.

That means the Baggies will definitely be represented in the quarter-finals of the tournament.

Evans is hoping the Northern Irish contingent come out on top.

"We're in such a position here to create history that can last a long time and we don't want to let go of that," he said. "We want to go as far as we can and not waste this opportunity."

The Northern Irish fans have been in fine voice during the tournament, and the former Manchester United defender said their non-stop singing lifted the team against Germany.

Evans and co were able to keep the score down in a 1-0 defeat to the world champions which proved enough to see them through to the next round.

"We appreciate everything that they've done for us since they've been here," Evans said.

"We're still getting videos and snapchats, all the lads are seeing it all over the internet.

"They're still singing their hearts out and they've been here two weeks some of them. You almost think, how are they still doing this?

"Sometimes, when you're in a big game like that (Germany game), you're thinking the atmosphere won't be as good as the first two games and then you see all the videos coming through and you hear them get to the stadium and that definitely gives you a lift.

"It helps you put it in when your legs are tired, you want to do it for them. That can definitely push you, you can see the reception we got."
