The Brazilian midfielder spent the second half of the season on loan at The Hawthorns from Queens Park Rangers. Included in that loan deal was an option to buy the 26-year-old this summer, but head coach Tony Pulis and technical director Nick Hammond have not decided yet whether they want the former Tottenham man.

The club's hierarchy want to focus their attention on the frontline, as they look for replacements for Victor Anichebe, who has been released, and Saido Berahino, who is likely be sold.

Creative midfielders and wingers are also priorities. Pulis needs to replace Stephane Sessegnon on the right, and would like an upgrade for James McClean on the left. A replacement for James Morrison could also be high on the list should the north-easterner return to former club Middlesbrough.
