The club are refusing to comment on the cheeky strip tease that took place around 5pm in the middle of the bustling shopping centre that doubles up as New Street railway station.

The new kit – which is due to be officially launched next Monday – is a classic blue and white striped shirt with new sky-blue trim down the side that has replaced the red trim on the current jersey.

Although the Baggies haven't owned up to the stunt, the club's head of retail tweeted a video of the dance before quickly deleting it, confirming it as next season's shirt.

The 30 dancing girls appear to be offering a playful reminder to passers-by of the state of West Midlands football.

Now that Aston Villa have joined Wolves and Birmingham City in the Championship for next season, Albion are the only Premier League side left in the West Midlands.

Revealing their kit in one of the busiest areas of Birmingham at one of the busiest times of the day looks like a deliberate ploy from the Baggies to move into the city in order to expand their fan-base.

The club's new shirt sponsor is Chinese online betting company UK-K8.com, which was announced earlier this week.
