And tomorrow's opponents Arsenal are the best behaved in the league.

The Baggies are joint-top of the FA's disciplinary table, alongside rivals Villa when all competitions are taken into account.

To calculate the Fair Play league, the FA awards four points for a yellow card, while 10 points for a sending off brought about by two bookings or denying a goalscoring opportunity.

It's 12 points for a straight red for violent conduct, serious foul play, spitting, or abusive language.

Both the Baggies and Villa have picked up 326 points from 40 games this season, making them the dirtiest in the top tier.

Although Albion's three red cards are eclipsed by West Ham, Southampton (both 6), Chelsea, Everton (5), Newcastle and Arsenal (4), their 73 yellow cards are the second most in the league behind Villa (76).

The Gunners may have had more players sent off this season than Tony Pulis's side but. because they have picked up a league-low 45 bookings, they are officially the fairest team in the league.

Arsene Wenger's team are still the best behaved if just Premier League matches are taken into account, but the Baggies lose their title and become the third-dirtiest team behind Villa and Watford.

Pulis has been criticised in the past for the way his teams robustly approach the game, and the Baggies are no strangers to yellow cards.

This season's red cards have been shown to Gareth McAuley away at Manchester United, and James McClean and Salomon Rondon both at home to Bournemouth.
