Goalkeeper Ben Foster hasn't ruled out a late push for Euro 2016 – although he's focusing on West Brom over England at the moment.

Manchester City star Joe Hart picked up an injury in Sunday's Manchester derby.

But Hodgson called up Burnley's Tom Heaton to replace the England No 1 in the squad for the friendlies against Germany and the Netherlands.

Questions were raised over Foster's England future, with the decision appearing to shunt the Baggies custodian down to fifth choice.

However, Foster and Hodgson have been in regular contact over the 32-year-old's fitness since he returned from his 10-month lay-off in January.

The Albion shot-stopper decided he didn't want to put extra pressure on his knee at this point in time.

After playing six full games in February, he told Hodgson he could use this two-week break to help him continue his recovery from last year's injury.

Foster worked under the current England manager at Albion in the 2011-12 season and it was Hodgson who persuaded him to come out of international retirement in 2013.

Although the pair have a good relationship, the emergence of 23-year-old Jack Butland and Fraser Forster, 28, has given Hodgson plenty of younger options in goal.

With that in mind, Foster is focusing primarily on the Baggies right now, but has told the England manager that he is still available for Euro 2016 selection if needed.

Meanwhile, Albion have been linked with German striker Sandro Wagner.

The 28-year-old has 11 goals in 26 Bundesliga games for relegation-threatened Darmstadt this season and is understood to have an affordable buyout clause of just £580,000.

Albion have sent scouts to Germany in recent weeks to watch several players and, while he's understood to be on the club's radar, Wagner is not at the top of the list of summer targets.
