Tony Pulis: Time to move on from coin throw
Boss Tony Pulis has urged West Brom to move on from last weekend's coin-throwing incident as he issued a boost to Albion's injury problems in defence.
Craig Dawson and Gareth McAuley will both return for tomorrow's home game against Crystal Palace, and Pulis hopes Jonny Evans will also be available.
Fellow defender Chris Brunt was struck in the face by a coin at the end of Albion's FA Cup defeat at Reading last weekend.
"Talking to Albion supporters, the thing that really disappoints them is the fact the football club has been shown up for something it isn't," said Pulis.
"Traditionally it's a very honourable club who stick behind their players, and stick behind their team and their club."
But the Baggies boss wants the club to now draw a line under the incident.
"It's happened, you have to deal with it, and you have to move on," he said.
"This is a very famous football club, it's one of the founder members, it's got great supporters."
Dawson and McAuley missed the game against Reading and Evans limped off with a hamstring injury at the final whistle.
"We're hoping Jonny Evans might be fit, so fingers crossed that might be a big bonus for us," said Pulis.
"Then we're looking at one or two others who have got little knocks and niggles."
Palace were fifth at Christmas but no win in nine league games and six defeats in the last seven has dropped Alan Pardew's team down to 13th.
They're now level on 32 points with Albion and Pulis could climb above his old team with victory tomorrow.
"It's a little bit like us, they've missed some of their top players," said Pulis.
"I think Puncheon being out, I think McArthur being out, I think Bolasie being out, people like that who make the difference for that team.
"If you're outside the top five or six, if you lose your best players then your team will struggle.
"We've had it a little bit here, Palace have had it a little bit there.
Yannick Bolasie and Bakary Sako are back in contention for Palace but Jason Puncheon is still out.
"Puncheon is an exceptional player, he doesn't get the credit he deserves, Jason," said Pulis.
