It is understood Swansea wanted to take Albion's £8 million summer signing on loan for the rest of the season, but the club shunned the enquiry.

Swansea currently lie one place and three points below the Baggies in 15th with the two sides set to meet at the Hawthorns on Tuesday night.

Reports also suggest Derby County had made an enquiry about Victor Anichebe moving to Pride Park in a loan deal.

However it is understood Tony Pulis will not let any of his other strikers leave, especially with the current speculation surrounding Saido Berahino.
