West Brom left-back Chris Brunt won't be risked against Peterborough in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday for fear of doing long-term damage.

Brunt picked up a calf injury in the third round replay at Bristol City and subsequently missed the goalless draw against Aston Villa.

He's receiving treatment on his leg daily and continues to be assessed. Although he is not expected to be out for long, he is unlikely to play against League One Posh.

His injury at Ashton Gate forced boss Tony Pulis to hand Sebastien Pocognoli a rare appearance but, despite an impressive performance in that game, the Welshman played Jonny Evans at left-back against Villa.

Jonas Olsson was nursing a hamstring problem throughout the derby, but he's expected to be fit for selection this weekend.

Meanwhile, Arsenal loanee Serge Gnabry is back in the West Midlands and training with the Albion squad again.

Expecting to be recalled early from his season-long loan, Gnabry returned home to London at the start of the January transfer window.

However, the two clubs could not agree the terms of his return and now it is in doubt. Albion agreed to pay Gnabry's wages for the whole campaign.

It's understood that, unless another club is found to take the German winger on loan, he could be staying in the Black Country until the end of the season.

Gnabry has played just 12 minutes of Premier League football for the Baggies, and Pulis has been unimpressed by the 20-year-old in training.

Elsewhere, reports from Italy that Albion are interested in striker Mario Balotelli are understood to be wide of the mark.

The controversial Liverpool striker is on a season-long loan at AC Milan. but the Serie A side want to end that agreement early.

However, there is no truth in the rumours that the Baggies are interested in signing the Italian.

Albion are releasing more tickets for Saturday at 1pm tomorrow. They cost £10 for adults, £5 for kids.
