Pulis revealed the 26-year-old, who was substituted just past the hour mark in the Baggies 0-0 draw with Villa, has undergone a blood test and will be assessed.

Rondon has scored only four goals since his £12million move from Zenit St Petersburg and Pulis admitted he is still getting used to the pace of the English game.

He said: "It's a different type of football he's playing, week in and week out. It's so hard and so tough. He needs this season to get his feet on the ground and get used to it.

"He's got real quality and real talent and he doesn't go out there not to run. If you look at his running stats, they're excellent. So he goes out there and does work hard."

Pulis went on: He's had some blood tests this weekend just to test him because the lad feels tired. We'll check on him, see where he is and he might need a couple of weeks off."
