West Brom's third-choice goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard has gone on loan to Preston North End for the rest of the season.

The Danish goalkeeper joined the Baggies last summer on a free transfer from Manchester United to provide cover for Boaz Myhill with England international Ben Foster out long-term.

He signed a two-year deal, but now Foster has recovered from his cruciate knee injury, Lindegaard has been shunted further down the pecking order.

Albion can recall the 31-year-old from Preston, who are currently mid-table in the Championship, should both Foster and Myhill pick up injuries.

Lindegaard has made just one appearance for the Baggies so far, playing all 90 minutes in the 3-0 defeat away at Norwich in the third round of the League Cup.
