His FA Cup winner at Bristol City on Tuesday was just his fourth goal since joining the Baggies from Zenit St Petersburg in a club-record deal last summer.

And the Venezuelan, who arrived with a big reputation after bagging 20 goals in 37 appearances for Russians Zenit Saint Petersburg, has conceded he must start to find the net with more regularity.

He said: "I need to score more goals for the team and the team needs to score to get the points we need.

"I am very happy, as it has been a long time since I scored. It makes me happy after all the work I've done."

The goal at Ashton Gate was Rondon's first since the 3-2 defeat to Leicester on October 31.,

Though he remained a regular in Tony Pulis' team during the drought, the 26-year-old indicated the transfer fee has weighed heavily on his shoulders.

He said: "It's very difficult with the price tag. West Brom paid a lot of money for me and I have a reputation (for scoring), so I have to keep working."

"The English league is difficult. But we won the game, so it makes me happy. The last game we lost at Southampton, but this is the way. If we do well, we will win every game."

Rondon and his team-mates have now turned their attentions to Saturday's visit of rivals Villa to the Hawthorns.

The forward played in the Baggies 1-0 win at Villa Park earlier this season and knows exactly what to expect in the derby tussle.

He said: "It is important in the area and it will be difficult for them, as Villa are down and we need to win at home to take the three points."

Albion are continuing to assess Chris Brunt, after he was forced out of Tuesday's game with a calf injury. Darren Fletcher (knee) also face a race to be fit for the derby game.
