West Brom's Chris Brunt set for assists
West Brom left-back Chris Brunt reckons his job at set pieces is made much easier by the team's big players attacking the ball.
Both of Albion's goals against Liverpool came from his corners, although he was reluctant to claim much credit for the first goal.
The Baggies equalised in the first-half when Craig Dawson capitalised on Simon Mignolet's error, after the Liverpool goalkeeper dropped one of Brunt's corners under the pressure of Salomon Rondon.
In the second-half, Jonas Olsson nodded in one of the Northern Irishman's inswinging set-pieces to take the lead with 17 minutes to go.
Brunt said: "It's a big part of our game and we work hard on them. You can take a bit of pride in your delivery.
"I was a bit annoyed with a couple I hit before that, but the one for Jonas's goal was great, I was delighted to see it go in.
"I suppose it's a bit bitter-sweet, really, because you don't come away with the three points."
Albion are a tall, menacing team at dead-ball situations, and it's not just the two big centre-halves who wreak havoc in the opposition's box.
Brunt said: "The likes of Jonny (Evans) and Salomon (Rondon), then obviously Daws (Craig Dawson) as well, we've got big strong lads who want to go and head the ball.
"It makes my job a lot easier when you're taking them."
Divock Origi's dramatic late deflected equaliser cancelled out Olsson's header right at the death, leaving Brunt dejected.
It would have been Albion's third win at Anfield in five seasons, but what was particularly cruel was the way the goal came about.
Brunt said: "The way the goal went in at the end was disappointing. There's not really an awful lot you can do about it either.
"We're disappointed obviously not to get all three points but I suppose before the game if somebody said you were going to get a point, you'd have probably said 'yeah OK'."
There were eight minutes of injury time, because Liverpool centre-back Dejan Lovren was stretchered off after a Craig Gardner tackle.
Albion's midfielder got the ball, but followed through on the Croatian. Lovren left the ground on crutches and was due to undergo a scan on his knee last night.
Brunt said: "I was about 50 yards away but, obviously, I did see it. He's played the ball from where I am. The follow through has obviously caught him.
"You don't like to see people getting hurt, it's unfortunate he's gone off but it's one of those things. I think it's probably more momentum has taken him through more than anything else."
