Burton left his post on June 30 and has now reached a settlement with the Baggies allowing him to seek work elsewhere.

He said: "I am pleased to have reached an amicable agreement with WBA to end my gardening leave early.

"I wish the club and the supporters all the best for the future. I am now really looking forward to getting back to work and continuing my football career as soon as possible."

Burton was in his second spell at the Hawthorns, having previously been a first team coach in the 2011-12 season.

He took over as technical director from Richard Garlick on 13 May 2014. He's also coached at Arsenal, Wimbledon, Watford, Cardiff City and Sheffield Wednesday.
