Boss Tony Pulis has demanded a response from Albion as they look to end a tough week on a high at Crystal Palace tomorrow.

The head coach reckons a positive result against his former club will be the ideal tonic for any post-Everton blues, after the Baggies blew a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 to the Toffees at The Hawthorns on Monday night.

After several days of soul searching, Pulis wants to see players firing on all cylinders for the lunchtime kick-off at Selhurst Park.

"I want a response from my team after what happened on Monday," he said. "We got the second goal and then all we had to do was be really tight and solid for 10 minutes and then the game would have settled down again.

"It was really, really disappointing because we had the game in our hands. We need to bounce back and we'll be doing our damn hardest to do that."

Pulis hopes to have Gareth McAuley back available after the Northern Ireland international missed the Everton defeat with a calf problem. Fellow centre-back Jonas Olsson is likely to miss out, however, after suffering a groin injury on Monday night, while the head coach may also be considering a change in goal, after Boaz Myhill conceded three for the third time this season on Monday.

Palace keeper Wayne Hennessey was among Pulis' targets in the summer, before Albion signed Anders Lindegaard from Manchester United.

The head coach, who resigned from Palace in August last year, admits many of the opposition players are familiar to him.

"Some new players have come in since I left Palace but if you look at the team that played Watford – the likes of Brede Hangeland, Martin Kelly, Wayne Hennessey and Joe Ledley – they were signings I made," he said. "I know the majority of the players."
