West Brom Tony Pulis today has still not ruled out selling Saido Berahino after hitting out at players being treated like "lumps of meat".

Chairman Jeremy Peace last night claimed the Albion striker would not be sold in this transfer window following two failed bids from Tottenham and a rejected transfer request from Berahino.

But Pulis again insisted today: "I never say never about anything until it's closed and factual."

The Baggies boss will decide this afternoon whether to use Berahino at Stoke on Saturday after leaving him out of the club's last two games.

Pulis said: "I wasn't in the discussions the chairman had with Saido.. I'll have a chat with the lad when he comes in.

"It's not just about football it's about the person, about the lad, and what he's going through. He's a human being, he's not just a lump of meat who people are trying to sell. He has emotions and having spoken to him he needs protecting

"I don't think he is 110 per cent clear on what his future is. So many people get through to these youngster."

Pulis revealed Albion are still in talks with Cardiff over goalkeeper David Marshall and Manchester United about a deal for defender Jonny Evans while Joleon Lescott could still leave with Villa interested.
