West Brom reporter Steve Madeley gives his daily update with the latest as club close in Manchester United defender Jonny Evans.

The Baggies hope to tie up the loose ends now key United officials have returned from the club's Champions League assignment in Bruges.

A fresh move was made for Evans after Tottenham centre-back Fazio failed to agree a contract to move to The Hawthorns following a day of talks last week.

The 28-year-old Argentina international passed a medical at Albion's training ground, after the club agreed a fee of around £5million with Spurs.

But Fazio could not agree terms over his contract and the Baggies turned to an alternative target.
