moreBrown Ideye grabbed his second late winner in as many pre-season games with a minute remaining to clinch a victory for Albion.

That was just moments after Nate Shiffman had cancelled out McClean's first-half opener.

McClean, who risked controversy by refusing to acknowledge the English flag in the victory at Charleston on Friday, opened the scoring with a fabulous long-range strike.

That came on 14 minutes, just eight after a restart following a lengthy weather delay.

Referee Matthew Franz had taken the teams off in the sixth minute for their own safety following some huge forks of lightning, and play was delayed for an hour.

The hosts had the only chance before the interruption when Jason Yeisley headed over from a cross by Sekyere Owusu.

When play resumed, the Baggies were ahead within eight minutes through McClean, who cut in from the right flank and let fly with a left-footed shot that looped up and over helpless Richmond keeper Ryan Taylor.

As heavy rain began the fall, Victor Anichebe headed a tough chance wide from a Callum McManaman corner before Saido Berahino tried his luck from distance with an effort that flew just wide.

McManaman had a shot charged down after smart work out wide by makeshift full-back Liam O'Neil but the Baggies had to make do with a 1-0 half-time lead.

Early in the second half, Yeisley headed over for Richmond and substitute Brown Ideye did likewise for the Baggies from a centre by O'Neil.

Another substitute, Stephane Sessegnon, then drew a save from keeper Taylor before linking up with Ideye, who fired over as Taylor charged him down.

Yomby headed over from a free-kick by Mike Callahan before Baggies substitute Adil Nabi sent a free header over the bar from a corner by Sebastien Pocognoli.

With five minutes remaining, Shiffman drew Richmond level when he produced a fine, first-time finish at the far post from a cross by Alex Lee.

But four minutes later, Ideye restored the Baggies lead with a header at the far post from an excellent Sessegnon cross.
