Striker Saido Berahino has thanked his West Brom team-mates after being named Players' Player of the Season today.

The 21-year-old hot-shot has gone from zero to hero in the dressing room, 13 months after he was thumped by team-mate James Morrison.

Berahino was brought into line by his more senior team-mate after the England Under-21 international incensed his colleagues.

It came after he refused to apologise in the aftermath of the 3-3 home draw with Cardiff in April 2014. Berahino gave the ball away cheaply after Albion made it 3-2 in injury-time and the visitors broke and scored.

Berahino said: "Firstly I want to thank God for making this possible for me. I want to thank everyone at the club who has also made it possible.

"I'm so happy to win the top goalscorer award this season. And having this special trophy in my right hand from all the players who have voted for me.

"They have always been there for me when I had tough times and, also, when I was having good times, I want to really thank all my team-mates for voting for me.

"This season has been so great; I've had ups and downs, I've enjoyed myself and I've learned a lot as well.

"I just want to also thank everyone who has been in the background doing their work for me and being there for me. Thank you everyone and thanks for your support."
