The 16-year-old forward is one of four players joining Chris Coleman's initial 28-man party for the Euro 2016 Group B qualifier against Belgium on Friday, June 12 at Cardiff City Stadium from June 1.

The training call completes a double milestone for the hot prospect, who was included in Albion's senior squad for the first time in Sunday's 4-1 defeat at Arsenal.

Roberts, who qualifies through his Welsh grandparents and joins fellow 'extras' Harry Wilson, Declan John and Gethin Jones in the training camp, was thrilled to be rubbing shoulders with Gareth Bale and Co.

He said: "It was unexpected to be called up for the training camp so soon. It came as a surprise.

"It's a great honour, I was with my grandad when the news was announced and he's very proud as he is who I get my Welsh heritage from.

"He's really happy and excited for me, it's good to make him proud. The whole family is proud and that's good for me because ultimately that's what I want to be doing.

"It will be a great experience being around the full squad and around those kind of players, hopefully I'll learn a lot from them."

Roberts was an unused substitute at the Emirates Stadium alongside fellow Baggies teenager and academy prospect Alex Palmer.

The Albion youngster relished the experience of being in and around established first-teamers.

He said: "It was an amazing experience on Sunday, being in and around the first team and to get on the bench.

"Everything seems to be going quite well at the moment and the hard work is paying off. It's been my most successful season by far and I'll remember it for the rest of my life."
