Darren Fletcher believes Saido Berahino's West Brom team-mates would not begrudge the striker a move to a top club this summer.

Berahino took his tally for the season to 20 with a superb brace against already-crowned Premier League Champions Chelsea on Monday night.

And Fletcher, who also starred in the team's 3-0 hammering of Jose Mourinho's high-fliers, said: "It's very difficult when big clubs come calling and he's an ambitious kid who wants to do well in the game.

"He will probably want to go on and represent England and all these different things.

"Who knows what the summer holds? We want him to stay, obviously, because he's a fantastic player but I don't think we'd begrudge him if a big team came calling and paid a lot of money to take him."

Fletcher, who spent 12 years playing at Manchester United prior to joining the Baggies, knows what it takes to excel at one Europe's biggest clubs, and he said Berahino has the hallmarks of a top-level striker.

He said: "We see him in training and he finishes really well, right in the corner.

"You see the difference with top strikers with the way they hit the ball and how it hits the net."
