Big-spending Manchester City last night became the latest Premier League big-gun to be linked with a summer bid for the Baggies' 18-goal leading scorer.

But Berahino insists his summer focus will be on starring for England at the Under-21s European Championships.

Albion boss Tony Pulis has admitted he could be powerless to stop Berahino leaving if a cash-rich club makes a huge offer.

But the Baggies are keen to keep the 21-year-old and are set to open talks this summer over an extension to his current deal, which expires in 2017.

Liverpool have previously been linked heavily with a bid while Tottenham have distanced themselves from similar speculation.

But the striker says he will turn his attentions to under-21s action as soon as the Premier League campaign ends.

Berahino's domestic season will end on May 24 with the Baggies' final game of the campaign at Arsenal.

He said: "There will be no time for a holiday. There will be a little break after the season ends, but it will just be for a week and after that I'll join up with the under-21s, if selected.

"All the lads have been kept in the loop as to what's going to happen regarding the schedule and various other things.

"From then on preparation kicks in and we've got to focus on doing absolutely everything we can to do well in this big tournament we've got coming up.

"The time is fast approaching and I just can't wait until it starts now."

Berahino has not been involved with the Under-21s since he was part of the side that beat Croatia in a two-legged play-off to seal qualification for the finals.

But he has no concerns about slotting straight back in, adding: "It's a fantastic atmosphere within the camp."
