Boss Tony Pulis has ordered West Brom not to take Premier League survival for granted despite moving to the brink of safety against Liverpool on Saturday.

Pulis still insists the Baggies need 40 points to be secure after a goalless Hawthorns draw with Liverpool took them to 37 – seven clear of the drop-zone with four games left.

"We had a poor set of results at home and that was most probably down to the mentality and listening to people saying we were safe with 33 points," said Pulis.

"People take their foot off the pedal and we're not good enough to do that. We have to be at 100 per cent all the time in every game we play.

"We have just played Liverpool, now we go on to Manchester United, we play Chelsea and Arsenal and Newcastle are in there.

"I still think we've got to get to 40 points and that keeps you up most seasons.

"You can never take anything for granted. Just look at Leicester.

"If we can get 40 points, we'll stay up. That's got to be the attitude. We've got four games to get through."

Albion's quest for safety comes against the backdrop of a possible takeover, with chairman Jeremy Peace awaiting possible bids from foreign investors who have shown in interest in buying his controlling stake.

"The chairman will keep that very close to his chest but he's told me if there's anything positive, he'll keep me informed," said Pulis.

"He's a very astute man and he's said that if it's not sold by a certain time, that'll be it, he'll keep it and move forward."

Meanwhile, Pulis has confirmed pre-season preparations will start with a training camp in Austria, where he has previously taken Stoke and Palace.

It is expected to be the first of two overseas trips in July, with details announced in the next few weeks.
