Fletcher and Co are set to play a vital clash with Leicester amid a day of celebration and nostalgia to mark the launch of the Jeff Astle Foundation.

And the Baggies skipper, who will lead out a side clad in replica 1968 FA Cup final kit, tomorrow has told his team-mates must use the emotional occasion to inspire them.

The Scotland international said: "The stadium is sold out, it's going to be a fantastic occasion celebrating Jeff Astle, who's a legend here at West Brom.

"It's going to be a great day in that respect but we've got a job to do. And with that crowd behind us and the atmosphere they create, those little extra incentives will be important to help us in the match.

"We've got to draw inspiration from that and not be daunted by it. I think you've got to use it as the opposite and take inspiration from it and feed off that atmosphere that's going to be created."

The kit switch – just the second time the Premier League has sanctioned such a move – will be the centrepiece of an emotionally-charged afternoon.

It will also include a 1968 pre-match soundtrack and an appearance from at least five of Astle's Wembley team-mates.

FA chairman Greg Dyke will attend and comedian Frank Skinner – a close friend of Astle before his death in 2002 – will appear before the match along with Astle's two-year-old grandson Joseph.

Fletcher said: "As a player, it'll be our great honour to wear the shirt those great players wore on that day."
