The Scotland international officially moved to the Canaries today in a loan deal that runs until March 22.

But it's understood the Championship play-off chasers are looking to bag the 27-year-old permanently, although talk of a £4m switch is wide of the mark.

Dorrans was a bargain £150,000 buy from Livingstone in 2008 and has made nearly 200 appearances for Albion but has struggled to establish himself as a Premier League regular at The Hawthorns.

It's believed the Baggies are willing to listen to offers as they plan a shake-up of the squad in the summer.

Meanwhile, boss Tony Pulis is keeping tabs on the free agent market as he looks for back-up to Saido Berahino and Brown Ideye.

The Baggies did have an interest in Brazilian forward Nene, whose most recent stint in Europe came with Paris Saint-Germain.

But the 33-year-old last night signed for fellow Premier League side West Ham, who were looking to replace the injured Andy Carroll.

Albion are on the lookout for attacking reinforcements, after their deadline-day deal to sign Carlton Cole from the Hammers fell through at the 11th hour.

That meant Ideye's proposed move to Al-Gharafa was also cancelled and the £10m Nigerian, who is Albion's record signing, has responded with the best spell of form of his Baggies career with four goals in his last three games.

But the Baggies are still short of options with Victor Anichebe's ongoing groin problems meaning Ideye and leading scorer Berahino are the only senior strikers currently available.

Nene has played in Europe since 2003, when he left Brazil to join Spanish club Real Mallorca.

He has since played for Alaves, Celta Vigo and Espanyol in Spain as well as Monaco and PSG in France.

The 5ft 11in forward was on the Baggies' radar with Pulis conscious he is one injury from a potential crisis following Georgios Samaras's exit in January and the Baggies' failure to land Cole.
