The pair are the latest victims of a major reorganisation which also saw coaches Keith Downing, Dean Kiely and Rob Kelly depart.

White has left his post as head of UK scouting, ending a 15-year association with the club which included nine and a half years as a part-time scout. He took up a full-time role in July 2009.

Spearing, who is a friend of former sporting and technical director Dan Ashworth, was Albion's head of European scouting and recruitment for the last six and a half years.

A Baggies statement read: "The club has conducted a wide-ranging review of its recruitment operation.

"That's been ongoing since the appointments of Terry Burton (technical director) and Mervyn Day (head of recruitment). We have identified new strategies for the future.

"We have reached an amicable parting of the ways with Stuart and Tony, both of whom have made a valued contribution to the club's development during their service.

"They depart with the club's gratitude and best wishes for their future career paths. The club will be announcing further details about its plans for future recruitment in due course."
