West Brom boss Alan Irvine believes Saido Berahino's sparkling form could earn him a senior England call-up next month.

Berahino scored his seventh goal of the season and his sixth in the Premier League in last night's 2-2 draw against Manchester United.

And that has led to further calls of full England recognition for the 21-year-old, with Irvine said: "He is in great form just now.

"He deserves what he is getting as a reward at the moment because his application every day in training is really top class.

"He is behaving like a professional day after day on the training ground and, with the potential he's got, if he keeps doing that he'll get the rewards.

"Roy (Hodgson) will decide when the right time is for him to go in. I have just said to Saido keep on doing the right things and people will make those decisions.

"If he keeps performing like that he has a real chance of becoming a full international, when that is I don't know, though."

Berahino was touted for a possible call-up this month but was instead retained in the Under-21s squad.

He played in their crucial Euro 2015 qualifying play-off against Croatia, scoring in the first leg at Molineux as Gareth Southgate's men triumphed 4-2 on aggregate.

The under-21s have no fixtures in November's international break, when the senior side tackle Slovenia at Wembley in a Euro 2016 qualifier and Scotland in Glasgow in a friendly.

And Berahino's claims appeared to be backed by England coach Gary Neville, who was working as a TV pundit last night.

Neville said: "If you're English and you score goals you've got a good chance. We haven't got many forwards that can play in the Premier League. There aren't a great deal of options.

"He's already in the system because he's playing for the U21s, so it's inevitable if he continues to score goals and play like he is he will come into the thoughts."
