The difference - watch Joleon Lescott's post-match interview after the great victory at Tottenham in this video above.

The Baggies left-back watched on with wonder at White Hart Lane as the former Wolves star bossed the back four and shut-out Spurs.

And, as they focus on a key week with a league cup clash against Hull tomorrow plus a Super Sunday date with Burnley, Pocognoli believes Lescott's arrival into the Baggies defence has boosted belief.

The Belgium international said: "Joleon was incredible. He is really 'the boss.' He is a great player.

"When he plays like he did on Sunday is provides help for the whole team. He manages the defence because he has a lot of experience. He is someone we really need in the team."

Boss Alan Irvine could be tempted to rest Lescott and Craig Dawson in tomorrow's Capital One Cup clash with the Tigers, as Gareth McAuley and Jonas Olsson on the sidelines.

But Pocognoli is warning that Albion need to continue with their newly-found momentum, saying: "For a defender, when you finish a game with a clean sheet, it's perfect work.

"We had some difficulties because they have very good strikers but we stayed together and fought for each other, so that's nice. It was a good win and we needed it but it is a result of the hard work we have done in the last few weeks.

"I had a feeling that the win would come soon and Sunday just reflected what we had done in the last week. The dressing room really needed these three points and next week we play at home and we must go full-out for the three points.

"It was very important to win for a good atmosphere in the club so I am very happy with it."

And, after arriving in the summer, the 27-year-old was just relieved to get those first three points under his belt after a slow start at The Hawthorns.

He added: "It's always nice to get your first win at a club and I really enjoyed it, especially the happiness in the dressing room after the game.

"We play football for that feeling. The first few weeks have been very positive for me and I just do my best for the team. I am really enjoying England."
