Greening has decided to extend his playing career after joining brother Josh at Tadcaster Albion in the ninth tier of English football.

The 35-year-old, who was part of Manchester United's treble-winning squad in 1999, announced his retirement from professional football this week, after an unsuccessful trial with League Two Hartlepool.

But he will play on in the part-time game and could make his debut on Saturday, against Maltby Main in the Northern Counties Eastern League Premier Division.

Greening made more than 200 appearances for Albion between 2004 and 2010 and also had spells at Middlesbrough, Fulham and Nottingham Forest.
