Mulumbu limped off 21 minutes into his country's 2-0 defeat at home to Cameroon in the African Cup of Nations 2015 qualifying competition.

And he was later seen with an ice pack on the injury.

Baggies medics will now anxiously await updates as they prepare for the return to Premier League action at home to Everton on Saturday.

Boss Alan Irvine has already seen goalkeeper Ben Foster (thumb) and midfielder Graham Dorrans (heel) return early from international duty this week nursing injuries, although he is optimistic both will be ready to face the Toffees.
