The Baggies have signed 11 new players after 12 departed but have made an underwhelming start to the season with two draws and a defeat.

However, Peace believes the summer 'reboot' under new technical director Terry Burton and head coach Alan Irvine has restored the feel-good factor at the club.

"It does feel like that, very much so," said Peace, who triggered the clearout of players after last season's off-field unrest.

"They all seem to be in quite a good place. The feedback to me has been very positive and around the place people seem to be calmer.

"We have brought players in, we have done business early and worked hard to get them in and tried to settle them.

"We have brought in good players, re-negotiated three senior players' contracts and it's a very content dressing room.

"But they are still hungry and they still want success."

The Baggies' summer revamp included releasing five players, seeing five loanees return to parent clubs and losing Billy Jones after the defender ran down his contract.

Chris Brunt and Graham Dorrans entered the final years of their contracts before signing new deals.

"It's far more balanced now," said Peace. "Last year you could draw a line through 12 players who were out of contract. It's far more equally split now, which is one of the lessons we have learned.

"If you have got players due to be out of contract you will be monitoring them fairly closely in terms of 'do we do something new for them?'

"Usually it happens when they are two years out because once they get to 18 months out you are going to have to make a decision.

"We have got a couple of those we will be monitoring over the next couple of months."
