West Brom complete Sebastian Blanco deal

West Brom have completed their revamp by signing Argentina winger Sebastian Blanco for from Ukranian side Metalist Kharkiv for a fee of around £1.6million.

Pick that one out - how about this strike from Sebastian Blanco in this video as West Brom complete his signing.

The 26-year-old has signed a two-year deal, plus a year’s option, after passing a medical yesterday.

Blanco, who can play on either wing, has become the Baggies’ 11th signing of the summer transfer window. He will wear the No 28 shirt.

Head coach Alan Irvine said: “I’m really pleased that we’ve managed to add Sebastian to the squad.

“He’s an Argentina international who joined Metalist for a lot of money. Unfortunately, he suffered an injury not long after the move, which held up his progress.

“Since then, he’s shown his quality. He’s adept with both feet, is a nice crosser of the ball, creates chances and also scores goals.

“With the players we’ve brought in this summer, the squad has a much better balance thanks to the hard work of the Chairman, Richard Garlick, Terry Burton and the recruitment staff.”

Blanco, who was born in Greater Buenos Aires, won two full caps for his country in 2009 and 2010 after making his name with Lanus in his homeland.

Baggies technical director Burton added: “Sebastian plays in the wide areas but can also operate as a No.10.

“He’s a technically-gifted player who has scored goals from distance with both feet. To have a player who is comfortable on either side is a big asset.

“We hope Sebastian will be able to help the team unlock defences when games are tight.”

Blanco follows Craig Gardner, Joleon Lescott, Chris Baird, Sebastien Pocognoli, Brown Ideye, Andre Wisdom, Jason Davidson, Cristian Gamboa, Georgios Samaras and Silvestre Varela in moving to The Hawthorns this summer and is expected to be the club’s final signing of the transfer window.

Can't make it to the game today due to work! Looks like a good signing to me great centre of gravity, gives us everything we need in the squad. Competetion for place should be fierce this year, something we severly lacked last year,

Good luck today lads and have a good time to those who are travelling

Captain Mardon International

Snap - I'm currently at work too, but have rocknRoll football on the radio ready.

I can't wait to see this new look team play when it all happens after the break. Two snappy wingers are really going to make the difference. We need to also think ourselves lucky that we're picking up points with a small and injured squad. Just goes to show we have the quality there when needed.

1-1 is my prediction.

but when is he going drop brunt and dorrans. the manager is inept

The last piece of the jigsaw?,let's hope they all fit together with ease.

Let's have some patience and keep behind team and coach, results will come.

bomber hat trick

Here's hoping the deal is completed quickly, Albion teams have always thrived with a fast and tricky winger. He'd be a great addition tp the squad.

Captain Mardon International

He's signed

welcome to the baggies seb. another international in the ranks. boing boing

The Real Bully Hoo.

Welcome to the club Seb.

What we need, especially after the way it looks as if today's game is going, is a bit of patience from the fans A new manager isn't going to bed 11 new players into a squad overnight. I think you're being optimistic Captain if you think it will happen during the international break, I think it will take at least another month or 6 weeks

knowing irvine he will probably say he's not match fit and wont play for two weeks.... after this international break everyone should be match fit in my view! no more excuses!
