Well done to all the players at West Brom that's the result we wanted this should give us the lift, a fantastic result, we must seal our place now with another win and we can breathe easier, but a great improvement especially winning a home game at last under Pepe Mel our new Manager, Keep it up and keep us in the premiership for next season. "Up The Baggies "

colindbaggie

Three well earned deserved home points very tense towards the final whistle with it only at 1 nil, coild've been more with a bit more composure in front of goal.

But who cares looks like we will be ok now, two more points from next two games and a nice relaxed win final day against Stoke.

We shall overcome.

Currently havin' a few beers, and soakin' up the atmosphere of very happy Baggies fans-

in the words of the great Stevie Ray Vaughan-

' the house is a rockin ', everybody come on in.......'

The Baggies rise, and Villa fall.....

pretty much says it all..........;-)

AndyH

Afternoon fella,

great result yesterday....sorry I missed you in the ground....went for a drink at half time and didn't read your reply to me on the other thread until just.

I'll be getting a ticket for the Stoke game tomorrow and it'll be likely in the East stand again so we can try again....

I've posted about Russell Brand below...did anyone else see him??

regards mate....still smiling

AndyH

CantelloRocket 78

Alright Andy?

I seem to be havin' trouble making direct contact with you - is this because you Scots have already declared independence and moved further out into the North Sea??.......;-)

Actually I've replied to you further on this thread, just look down, and you'll find me near the bottom, standing on Bully's head......

Hopefully see you for Stoke.

Corfuwolves

Great result! Can't see Baggies going down now.

CantelloRocket 78

Corfu,

So why not come on in and join us?-

'The house is a rockin '........' :-)

Corfuwolves

Have done! Our Black Country Dudley /Netherton family are all happy bunnies!

Toasting a great Baggies result here in Corfu with Baggies mates.

CantelloRocket 78

Corfu,

Good to hear - enjoy.

By the way, have you got 2 weeks available in late August?

Self-catering will be fine, we'll bring a crate of duty free Bathams and a bag of faggots 'n' peases.....??

With talk like that it wasn't you yesterday who was impersonating me and insulting fellow fans?

If not can you get your Inch High Private Eye costume on and investigate?

Adeu

CantelloRocket 78

Kev,

Bon dia,

my investigations are on-going, but in an attempt to find out who was impersonating yow last night, I've contacted Interpol to find out more about this guy who seems to keep sayin' on here that he's 'Euro Ric' - they told me he was last seen guzzlin' a large quantity of red wine in a Magaluf bar, whilst watchin' the Baggies game yesterday on half a dozen big screens at the same time, then afterwards dancin' around the place tellin' everybody Albion won 6-0, and Berahino scored a double hat-trick......

I'll keep you informed.

Adeu.

Kev in Mallorca

Inch

If by the time of the Stoke game when we meet up in The Vine you've completed your dossier, please had it too me discreetly as you never know who's watching.

Over and out.

AndyL

Great result today and an excellent team effort.

We showed a great desire to win the game scrapping for every ball and whilst there were a few to close for comfort moments we managed to see the game out.

Personally I think that 36 points will now be sufficient to keep us up and I think with the pressure reduced we may well pick up further points against Stoke and Sunderland

The relief from the crowd and players suggested we all realised at full time exactly how big that win was today

halway

Ref was awful today,a fully deserved win,it helps when you get such a poor side like West Ham,Sess had his best game to date,Brunt is a must at left back distribution was great in the second half, just one error when he belted it square out of play,we kept the ball well today instead of booting it and that makes it easier to frustrate the opposition well done Albion COYB

Mboy

Pragmatic - we've played better and not won!! Deserved the 3 points but we continue to make it difficult for ourselves by missing golden opportunities up front and sometimes panicky in defence (although Carroll is a handful).

Sessegnon man of match by a country mile (apart from Ben in the first half) so VERY surprised to see him subbed.

Should be safe now, so hopefully Pepe can continue to put his mark on the Club.

Kev in Mallorca

Adeu

Mboy

Kev - as Jack the Hat did earlier this week, I think that you've shown your true colours, so I hope that you feel suitably embarrassed when you sober up and read these posts again.

I don't quite know why you're euphoric - we have just won a game that might mean that we avoid relegation this season - not a reason to be "euphoric", in my opinion!!! We all felt "euphoric" against Portsmouth in the Great Escape season, but we went down with a whimper the next!!

(In the interests of fairness, I thought that Jimmy did well when he came on!!)

CantelloRocket 78

Kev,

when yow come over for Stoke, dressed as that 'Nun with the Bun in the Oven' I'm gonna get Mboy out from behind that bush in the pub an' tell everybody he's the Father, and it happened when he was wearin' beer goggles, since when he's bin hidin' from the Mother Superior-

Why do you bring this crap into things after a great step in the success of WBAFC?

I'm euphoric, are you unhappy we won?

What a great team performance. Superb support from the fans. A blessing in disguise that Reid had to go off, that was the only weak link I could see in the first half. But a bit of re-jigging and we looked comfortable. A well deserved win, but no thanks to the cockney officials, in particular the East stand linesman where I was. He was atrocious, and could have cost us the game. West Brom FC, from the BLACK COUNTRY!!!!

SEATTLE WOLF

Wolf in peace...

Well done you happy Baggies.

That should just about end any jitters and fearful looks in the rearview mirror, because the road ahead looks free of any more relegation pitfalls..

Thanks for your post .... the problem is when it's your team and you are in the thick of it nothing is ever certain until it is mathematically safe ... You've been there too with Wolves.

SEATTLE WOLF

Simmo54, so true, so true!

won it 5 times

At last we are almost safe. We're a much better side than West Ham, that showed today. We should never really have got in this position in the first place, we've way too much quality, with the management change its been difficult but ultimately the ability of the players going forward has seen us through. Well done baggies !

JA

A great win for the Baggies. Every player had to fight hard for victory, which was well deserved!

Need to beat Sunderland away next week this will ensure safety!

Onwards and up for the BAGGIES!

Congratulations Pepe Mel and all the lads!

Boing! Boing! Come on you BAGGIES!!

A real battling performance and IMO we controlled the second half and should have scored a couple more goals

WONOH - good to meet up with you today and YES the shirt was lucky - you saw it, your were in its presence ... Job done

We Only Need One Half!

Pleasure my friend, dont you dare wash that shirt!

simmo54

West Ham were simply awful ... Plan A - just launch it high in the box and hope Carroll gets on the end of one . Plan B - get another big bloke on and launch it high into the box etc.

Ben Foster was superb in the first half - a couple of really world class saves and a second half not a great deal to do.

Fully deserved for everybody, Players, Pepe, the staff and the fans who were simply excellent again today ... it was like a cup final - didn't mind getting soaked by that hail storm walking back towards the motor way island.

Mboy

And by the way - I know that the E and D don't like us, but the comment above regarding Carroll's header that hit the bar suggests that away goals should count double at the Hawthorns!!!

How good was Mulumbu ? superb display, and great performance by Brunt, surely that's his best position.

jon williams

Great result, hard fought but never the less deserved. Sessingnon was good, but I also hoped the fans saw the effort put in by Amilfortino. The crosses he put in got us the goal, but he put in several other brilliant crosses with no-one in the box to receive them, something we have got to put right. Question was the other day, should we keep him, don't see how we can afford to be without him, JP, get the signature.

King Jeffs Left Boot

It's took an ugly win to get the points today, we had plenty of them under megson in the championship, do u think pepe gave him a bell for a bit of advice lol, think we might just be safe now, battled like we know a Baggie side can, all you boys stepped up to the mark today, proud of ya, PRIDE OF THE MIDLANDS AGAIN, COYB.

boy from the REAL black country

Said after the Spurs match we needed just 2 more points - just don't see two of the bottom four teams bettering the 35pts mark, with our far superior GD, 35pts would see us safe (absolute minimum requirement mind, i'd rest far easier if we get past 37pts!) so i'm fairly happy with the 36pts we've got, safe, as far as i'm concerned.

ManInsider

I hope that young blonde girl who took my pic on her Ipad sticks to her promise and puts my pic on Barclays REAL supporters site.

Jack the Hat

astle bridge,

What I did notice mate was how Long's legs stopped running when he felt the slightest touch in their box, the diver, mind you his diving header was a good one too, as it should be with all that practice. I stated before, our fate is in our own hands, also I've said many times during this horrible campaign that our squad is strong enough to stay up and I see no reason for me to change my mind.

Onward and upward with the BAGGIES.

BOING~~~~BOING~~~~J♣H.

Jack.

I don't know what you've got against Shane Long but that was a penalty all day long (NPI.)

Jack the Hat

Bully,

I can now understand why he never got a verdict when he played for us, that challenge on him wouldn't have levered a moth out of the way. Now look at the battering Victor took when holding the ball at the corner flag by two defenders, stayed on his feet and won a throw-in, now imagine Long in the same predicament, he would have been on his backside. I arrest my case mate. He has never been the same since that Villa clogger Hutton kicked him off the park.

BOING~~~~BOING~~~~J♣H.

The Real Bully Hoo.

Rock solid penalty.

Jack the Hat

Bully,

Beg to differ.

BOING~~~~BOING~~~~J♣H.

Woodman Corner Jake

Excellent result; whole-hearted and committed performance has made us virtually safe. Pleased for Pep and the lads - but most importantly us fans.

Hopefully we can play the final games devoid of the FUD factor (fear, uncertainty, doubt) and express ourselves fully; the side has enough talent and should aim to turn up the entertainment dial to 11!

Let's go out with a bang and put this mostly-horrible season behind us.

ELDERVO

Well done you baggies, an excellent 3 points and safety. Can't see you being in the same position next season so looks like it's upto us to get ourselves back into the prem if we're ever going to enjoy the old rivalry back on the pitch.

Once again congrats and enjoy the last few games without the black clouds.

Three well earned points and a good vault over Villa says " We are almost there ". Both teams were nervous at the outset which was to be expected but after the first ten minutes our boys knuckled down to keep a clean sheet. Every one of our boys was a hero as they stood up to be counted. Gordon Amalfitano was my man of the match, just. Sessignon, Brunt, Dawson, Billy the Kid all ran him close. Billy the kid marked Jarvis out of the game second half, so much so Jarvis had to be replaced. Foster was his solid self and seemed to fill his goal. Special word for captain Brunt, his crosses in the first half made sure Bubbles defence lived on the edge. Second half after Billy had moved to right back to take care of Jarvis, Chris moved to right back and this tall lad was immense in that position with his distribution too. Has Mel uncovered a new left back?, we only need another one now. Where is Jacket the hat and the Sycho twins Maninsider-1877, surely he will be on here praising our solid performance I thought they would have been first in the queue with the Maninsider half saying how chuffed he was with his great day out and how much it cost him. Well it looks as if wolves can breath a sigh of relief as they won't get another 5-1 stuffing off us next season. Will it leave a bitter taste in the mouths of the deriding Dog-Heads who visit the light side regularly and camp out around the HAWTHORNS. Another nine points will put the cherry on the cake. L☺Ls.

What a bostin wikend, ay et.

Lo que a reventaring fin de semana. Just for you Pepe.

Cyril

I didn't see West Ham as a poor team except in their finishing and Ben did make a few world class saves when they could have scored. Also, they held the upper hand for quite a while, maybe down to our nerves, maybe not. What did lift me was when we did attack, the thrusts through their defence were fast, accurate and threatening. Sessegnon is beginning to look like a very top quality player, Berahino

a fine prospect. I put this down to Pepe Mel. Several of our 'derided players' have blossomed under his tutorship. That is not a coincidence.

A deserved win, cloud 9 was full to bursting with our supporters so I had to make do with that soaking wet one that drowned us all.

Oh and solihullbaggie....you are two letters short off your name !!!!!!!!!!!!

CantelloRocket 78

Cyril,

as I've previously mentioned, when Pepe joined Real Betis they were in a very poor state, but they allowed him to bring in several players of his own choosing, after which he shaped them into a team that won promotion, established themselves in the top flight, then later chalked up victories against the top Spanish clubs-

Coach Mel was handed a massive challenge at Albion, with little more than one young lad added to the existing squad - imagine what he might do with a few more talented, committed, positive-minded players ' of his kind ' being brought to The Hawthorns in the near future?

The prospect could be mouthwatering.......

Jez Moxeys second chin

Congratulations guys, i think this should be enough to keep you in the top flight and with a bit of luck we will see you there in two or three years time.

Cornish Baggie

Well done to all the lads , and supporters ,as they say down this way ``Proper Job``

Boing Boing

CantelloRocket 78

The Daily Mirror continued it's muck-stirring last night by pushing a story claiming Albion are trying to line-up Tim Sherwood to replace Pepe Mel - just hours after Pepe was seen enjoying our victory.

Thinking about it, if we hadn't conceded those recent 'last-kick' goals against Cardiff and Spurs, we'd now be looking at 5 wins from our last 7 games - maybe something promising might be starting to develop........??

Captain Mardon International

I hope it's true personally

The Real Bully Hoo.

Captain.

I'm not quite sure what you base that on.

Pepe Mel has had a lot of problems to deal with that haven't been his fault but he's dealt with them well without complaining. Unlike Sherwood who slags of his players whenever anything goes wrong.

We've played some good and exciting football of late with a limited squad. Spurs results and performances have been very up and down with a very expensive squad.

Many of our players, Dorrans, Sessignon, Berahino, Brunt, I could go on have looked much better. I would put this down to the manager.

Your thoughts please.

The Real Bully Hoo.

Great win in the circumstances as the nerves in the dressing room must have been tremendous.

Foster, Mulumbu, Jones and Sess had great games and the rest weren't far behind. A special word for Saido who looked like a proper Premier League centre forward.. He showed great strength for his size and frequently out muscled Collins and Reid, Matej Vydra needs to get down the gym with him.

We've played some very good football lately as well as showing great fighting spirit and this can only come from the manager. We must keep him.

Cyril

Hear hear Bully ! And what about that bloody Viking at the back ?

The Real Bully Hoo.

Hi Cyril.

Yeah perhaps you're right and we've come to take Jonas's performances for granted.

I also thought that after giving Saido some stick after the Cardiff game (which he deserved) he merited a positive comment for what to me was far and away his best performance yet by a country mile.

The Real Bully Hoo.

PS.

Cyril.

As I had to go round the ticket office yesterday at about twenty past two, I tried to spot you by the steak sandwich van, I was looking for your female entourage but couldn't see any likely candidates, were you there?

Cyril

Bully, it was around 2.40pm when we got outside the food van and as Sir Terence had already gone, we didn't hang about. That's also why no ladies. He's the magnet, not me.

We still have the Stoke game. I'll try to be early enough for that one. Sadly the traffic from the Walsall direction is getting hopeless thanks to those poxy lights on the Oldbury West Brom dual carriageway.

Kev in Mallorca

Trbhoo

Day need yowa mate Dougie at left back did we?

Adeu

The Real Bully Hoo.

Kev.

I hate to break this to you as your head is probably in a highly delicate state today but once he converted from RIGHT half to RIGHT back that's where Dougie played every game.

Hope you're well mate and hope to see you sometime at the Stoke game, whether you'll remember it or not.

Kev in Mallorca

Trbhoo

Must be an age thing but I remember as him playing at left back and putting opposing players in the Halford's, obviously you being older than me I bow to your greater wisdom.

It seems I've always had trouble knowing what's gooin' on.

Try and pop in the Vine before the match.

Adeu

CantelloRocket 78

Bully & Kev,

I've just consulted me ' Baggies Book of useless trivia ' and yo'm both right-

bear with me -

when Dougie Fraser joined us around '63, he played in the no.4 shirt, then when Terry Simpson left, he switched to No.6-

but the season we won the Cup in '67-68, he played in the nos. 2, 4, & 6 shirts, and at no. 3 for a couple of games late season, then he switched permanently to no.2 when Yorkie Kaye moved back from 8 to 6.

Not long after, Chicago released their hit single ' 25 or 6 to 4 '-

So I'm sure all that's as clear as mud......

Pope

All wins are great wins but in the context of what this match was, what had happened the previous two home games an this being our last home game before a potential last day scramble match, this win should not be underestimated.

No McCauley, Reid off injured, Brunt playing out of position. This was truly a team showing unity and above all else, BOTTLE. I thought Berahino worked his socks off, Dorrans is playing like a man possessed. He truly is a magnificent player when he is in the groove. Brunt was rock solid at full back, Billy Jones fantastic and if Sessegnon could produce the form he showed in the first hour week in week out he would murder any team. Ben Foster is such a fine goalkeeper too. Last but not least i would like to take a word for Pepe Mel. This guy wants to change the way we play yet is astute enough to realise you can't do it over night and that we are in a position where results are important. I really think he will make us a force next season providing a) we stay up and b) he stays. COME ON YOU BAGGIES!!!!

The Real Bully Hoo.

Pope.

I agree with all of that especially the part about the manager.

I would encourage all supporters that feel the same way to let the club know how we feel and bombard them with demands that we keep him.

He really does seem to care, he's got all of the players onside and last but not least he seems a genuinely nice bloke.

wba-man

Thought Foster and Sessignon were superb yesterday.

John B

Safe now with 3 games still to go. Dont know what all the panic was about. I was a nervous wreck yesterday but feel great today. The noise was deafening when sess held the ball in the corner in the last minute. The crowd pulled us through this one. Well done to all the supporters there

funny old world

You mean big Vic

AndyH

Afternoon,

a good win and a little more breathing space......and a great showing from Mulumbu and Foster who must have a shout of the number 1 shirt now for England.....to be fair to West 'ammmm...we were just the better side and with a little more composure from Sadio and Sess it could have been 3 or 4. I still think we need 1 more win just to be on the safe side but at least it's firmly in our hands now...Jones was great on both flanks....Morrison good when he came on and Dorrans was superb....and big Vic in the corner.....a quality moment. Some of our attacking play was pretty good and when we went at them with pace they had no real answer to us...

On another note....the afternoon did start a little funny though.....I'd only had 1 drink as I walked into the East stand loo's to see a certain so called comedian being escorted out by a very large Steward.....Russell Brand ladies and gentlemen....now did I imagine this or was a celebrity West 'ammm fan in the home end?? And he looked a total prune as well.....just as he does on the telly really...

anyway

regards

AndyH

CantelloRocket 78

Andy,

alright mate?

I think I saw everybody in the East Stand on Saturday except for you and Russell Brand....lol.

At one point I did venture over to where you said you'd be - Row F Seat 8? - but no one was sitting there at the time, actually there were about half a dozen empty seats together.

As for Russell Brand, it must've been him because it seems he's got the West Ham club crest tattooed on his arm -

but I'm glad he got kicked out, because I then managed to jump in his seat next to Katy Perry......;-)

Maybe see you next time?

AndyH

Hi mate,

me an dad got to our seats at about 2.50 then went for a drink at half time.....but we are coming to Stoke and will be in the east stand again so hopefully see you then.

Russell Brand....couldn't believe it.

AndyH

The Real Bully Hoo.

I've been watching the games on Sky today and each one resulted in an important lesson.

1. Phil Dowd is in danger of becoming a good referee. He waited to allow Wickham the chance to score before awarding the penalty. In other words he didn't punish a player who was honest enough to try to stay on his feet as many other ref's do by chickening out of giving the penalty. If more ref's did this there might be less diving.

2. Liverpool fans are rubbish. After seeing their team concede a second goal in the last minute in a game they were desperate to win, they broke into a rousing rendering of 'You'll never walk alone' and then applauded their team off the pitch. As we all know they should have booed their players off the pitch to encourage them to try harder next time.

3. When Samir Nasri went down with a calf injury, two highly trained physio's ran on and apparently modern medicine's accepted treatment for such injuries is to squirt a bit of Lucozade on them.

Hmmmm sorry to wet on your fireworks dingles, but I am thinking that you're a bit deluded that you think, yep and only think ,that you have won something major. I don't think you have really got over the fact that when we kicked your back doors in, 5-1 the rot set in, mad mick was off the rest is history. I am honestly not gloating, just totally bemused. Eldervo I don't think you are a wolves fan, I don't think you are an Albion fan either. See the simple thing is that when u changed allegiance, you messed up big time, because who in there midst would want a traitor. I don't think many wolves fans would take you seriously because you claim to have seen the light, after being an Albion fan, and what if u suddenly decided that , now I want to support Albion again, we don't do traitors or turn coats. We the public just don't know do we, u can say what u like but nobody, but nobody trusts you. Its a bit like being a spy or double agent, no one knows your next move, so you're in limbo really , a nobody with no true feeling for a club to follow , cause you might get bored, or angry and might just say stuff u lot im supporting the club down the road.. Villa and Walsall, Blue noses who knows who's next,( yep only you) nah u cant be trusted after what u have done. We cant believe anything you say.

Capehill: probably the 3 funniest back to back rants I've read on any of the sites. Have you calmed down yet??

UTW

We Only Need One Half!

Well its took all weekend for the nerves to settle back down! what a fantastic result, and deserved I believe. For any wulfies watching MOTD, did you hear us singing to you when The Liquidator played ;-) the place was buzzing once again.

All in all a brilliant weekend! not only a much deserved three points at home at last, but almost every result that could have gone for us has!

Without us doing another jot, Cardiff cant catch us now, so thats one spot gone, Fulham have to win both remaining games, as do Norwich, and those poor buggers have got Chelsea and Arsenal in their last two, and with Chelsea's win at Anfield, giving them a glimmer of the Prem title still, you can only see them in for a hammering in that game, Man City's renewed hope is also going to make it extremely uncomfortable for the Villa (they couldn't, could they?, did anyone get on that 20-1 against I mentioned the other week?) who knows, good chance we may retain our Pride of the Midlands crown, yet again.

The mid table finish that I said was achievable sometime ago now looks a realistic prospect, and we all now what places make at this stage of the season, prize money!

What a difference a weekend makes, eh?

p.s. where's the fashionista Do Lal? sign we won again, what's he like eh?

CantelloRocket 78

WONOH,

well I looked at the Bookies' odds last night mate, then I also checked tonight's adjustment-

as an example, Coral's current odds for relegation-

Cardiff - 1/25

Norwich - 1/12

Fulham - 2/7

Sunderland - 11/4

Villa - 7/1

Albion - 25/1

They're also runnin' a book on which hat you'll wear for the Stoke game....

( p.s. - Villa's final 2 games, away to Man.C. and Spurs.....scary....!! )

The Real Bully Hoo.

Can I have two bob each way on a fascinator?

CantelloRocket 78

I always wondered, how do they get these fascinators to stay on the side of the head - superglue??

I just realised, Kev's lookin' at possible fancy dress themes for Stoke, hopefully not 'Ascot Ladieees day'......

We Only Need One Half!

Bully, amongst my wide, varied and ever expanding portfolio of products, I actually sell fascinator's, or I can do you a proper Wedding Hat if you want to go the full Monty? I can also sell you a 3 tin cake set if you want to bake your own, or if you want to add that touch of elegance how about a tussie mussie like Hercule Poirot's if you want to be really classy (I threw that last one in because I just know the people from the dark side will just have to look it up to see what it is lol)

CR, its just a simple a hair clip or long toothed comb on the reverse mate, although some of the more elaborate ones do seem to defy gravity. I still think Fulham can do it at the expence of Sunderland, mind you, depends if Fletch gets his boots on again before the end of the season. Can you imagine that conversation-

"shall we play our 12 mill striker?"

"Nah, we need an actual goal scorer, lets go and get Wickham back from Sheffield Wednesday"

Never fails to makes me chuckle that 12 mill price tag.

Smart money would be on a Peaky Blinder cap, final game against Stoke, how about we all turn up in traditional Black Country 'Mon' dress? flat caps, waistcoats, and collar less shirts, simple to do (just raid your Granddads or any old fella's wardrobe) and as the only team in the Black Country, befitting. Bonus points if you can smuggle a staffie, whippet or a pigeon in!

The Black Country is ours after all!

Kev in Mallorca

Cantello

I glad yo mentioned that, I'm still hoping to persuade somebody to be the bull too my matador so we can put on a mock bullfight in front of The Brummie at the Stoke game, I'm sure we'd get the whole ground shouting OLLAY!, ANY TAKERS?????

Adeu

The Real Bully Hoo.

Kev.

In the interests of fairness can you make sure you only dress as a lower league matador.

We Only Need One Half!

Well Kev, being big enough to play the back and front end of the bull at the same time I suppose it should be me, but I'm a bit shyer (is that a word?) than you.

and for that reason, I'm out!

The Real Bully Hoo.

WONOH.

My other thought was that a German helmet, the one with the spike on top would really suit you. You don't stock those as well do you?

We Only Need One Half!

Bully, sadly no, but I can do you a brand new SWAT helmet, I've even got some bullet/stab proof vests in at the moment if you want the full kit and caboodle.

The Real Bully Hoo.

Thanks WONOH but no thanks, I've worn them and they ain't the most comfortable things. I'm still mulling over the fascinator though.

We Only Need One Half!

OHHH, do you want it Sir? oh suit you Sir! OHHHH

I agree, the vests are not exactly Lounge wear, but given the situations they tend to be worn in, better than the alternative.

Kev in Mallorca

Rumpole

Can yo put one of them vest in the lay-away fu'me just in case Pepe get the job, it'll be a good Christmas present fu'Max.

Adeu

We Only Need One Half!

He will need two Kev, one to wrap around each wrist!

BURNLEY BAGGIE

We dug in for a great result, I still believe 36 will be enough to stay up.

Also special mention for JP who had the vision to sell Long in January and today he repaid us by scoring the equlizer against Fulham.

We Only Need One Half!

I wondered who would spot that, double oh Burnley, you noticed Agent Long is completing his mission well!

Wonder how many wulfies were still smiling from when we sold him when he headed in that Edward Woodward (The Equalizer!) ;-)

CantelloRocket 78

Well if Sunderland and Fulham pick up any points next weekend, and Shane scores the winner for Hull at Villa Park, me claret 'n' blue neighbour's gonna need some kind of medication with Man.C. And Spurs away to finish their campaign......

We Only Need One Half!

and they say a week is a long time in politics, they want to try following the EPL!

BURNLEY BAGGIE

WONOH

Very funny

Hopefully rouge agent Odemwingie's mission can now be aborted

We Only Need One Half!

Listen mate, if we are safe before that Stoke game the defector from Russia with scowl, known as Odem might well throw a sickie for that last game, or at least buy a decent pair of ear defenders.

You know what I mean ;-)

The Real Bully Hoo.

I bet you stock ear defenders, anything for a sale.

We Only Need One Half!

Bully, funny you should mention that lol, yes I do, here, riddle me this, in this article

http://www.expressandstar.com/editors-picks/2014/04/12/merchandise-sales-to-boost-fund-for-celebration-of-black-country/

It says "Not-for-profit organisation Black Country Festival Events is also selling flags"

Well if its not for profit why are Black Country flags 3 quid cheaper on Ebay?

Is it me?

The Real Bully Hoo.

WONOH.

I'll give the Black Country flag a miss as well, too many imposters about, a bit like on here although whisper it he seems to have gone, no doubt thinking up his new name.

albpeh

Well played all of the players and well done to all of the supporters who went to the game.

Watching it on tv, the expressions on the faces were a picture.

I used to have brown hair but now i am afraid it is grey all over.

Has this been because of watching the Baggies so long? Or is it because i am so old?

I will leave you to decide.

Once again thanks to all you wonderful supporters and the manager and players.

I have suffered so much this season ,like many times before ,but i think it has been worth it.

Thanks Phil

albpeh

Sorry ,slight spelling mistake.

CantelloRocket 78

Interesting comments from Pepe in an interview this weekend-

he said if he's still in charge for next season, he'll have a say in what new players we bring in, and at present there's only 13 in the whole squad with a definite contract for next term, although 3 or 4 others could activate another year's deal-

so he claims we'll have a very different looking team.........

WALL HEATH BAGGIE

We won a critical game no doubt about that . Now to bring you lot back down to Planet Earth . We a'int safe yet and the way this season has gone i for one a'int counting my chickens.

As for keeping Pepe Mel you must be having a laugh . We only won Saturday cos Reid got injured , Jones went to right back and Brunt went to left back ( ie the way we SHOULD have started ) . Mel then did his best to ruin it taking Sess off , did you see Mulumbu's reaction to it ? thought not , he was totally disgusted as was i .

Mel's first two substitutions against Spurs cost us two points .

Anybody who thinks we should carry on with this fifth rate Spanish comedian are living in ' Cloud Cuckoo Land '

Adios ( Particularly to Senor Mel ).

The Real Bully Hoo.

Max.

I think you're standing in splendid isolation on the one. The other 24,999 of us are living in cloud cuckoo land.

WALL HEATH BAGGIE

Bully

I think not my friend , you have to understand that the ' cartel ' on here are more often than not totally detached from reality . I will be very suprised if Mel is our manager next season.

The Real Bully Hoo.

Max.

Dolally is totally behind him and he's hardly a card carrying member of the party is he?

I invite anybody not regarded as a member of the 'comittee' that doesn't want him to stay to declare themselves on here.

do lallytap

I most certainly DO want Pepe to stay.

We need stability at the club but most importantly we NEED Pepe to stamp his way at the Albion and by that I mean he must bring his backroom staff and players in and the old guard must go.

I know it's not mathematically safe as yet and I am not a betting man but the odds are really in favour for us.

Pepe has said that he has some hard work to do, some hard decisions but this man is no fool.

I have said all along that I want to be entertained and my god the past few matches we have been, I have no finger nails left and some of that attacking play, at times has been breathtaking.

Pepe has had the experience of a few months under his belt, he ain't saft, he knows what is needed and who isn't needed and what needs strengthening and the thought of Pepe going and someone else coming in to start all over again, sorting out the deadwood fills me with dread.

Pepe MUST stay and he MUST start the season with HIS team, not a team which has throwback to that bufoon Clarke, who funny enough didn't set the world alight with his formations, style of play and substitutions.

OK, Pepe will make some mistakes along the way, it's natural but I will say again that the past few months experience will put him in good stead for next season, he has plans, he has ideas, I just hope JP has the gonads to stick with him and not just let him walk away for us to go through all of this over again with a new man at the helm.

Give him a chance, lets get behind him, let his passion come through via the players like it is slowly starting to, lets sort the rubbish out and let him carry on entertaining us with the style of play he is trying and any player who don't want to or are good enough for the ride can go....your time has gone and now it's time to move on WITH Pepe....LETS GET BEHIND HIM....After all The Liquidator is back and it was Pepe who listened to the fans at his forum and the next match it was back.

OLE !!

CantelloRocket 78

Well I'll always listen to other people's views, but I guess I eventually try to make me own judgement-

I think the last time Max gave his verdict on a Spaniard at The Hawthorns was when he said Borja Valero couldn't pass, couldn't head, couldn't shoot, couldn't score, and was a totally useless player-

the lad then went back to Spain where he received rave reviews in La Liga, got called up to the World Cup winning National Team, is now getting glowing reports from Italy, and has recently been linked with a move to either Man.Utd or Barcelona.

So I think I might leave it a bit to decide if Pepe's a fifth-rate amateur or a Latin Brian Clough........

WALL HEATH BAGGIE

A lot of good that did West Bromwich Albion Football Club . A'int you got Dingles to chase down ?.

CantelloRocket 78

Max,

I dunno mate, it could be we ended up makin' a profit on his transfer fees, and learnt something from the experience-

as for the Dings, they seem to be busy celebrating scoring 100 3rd Division goals, which equates to about 20 in the prem.....

CantelloRocket 78

Or is that 100 points, that equates to 20 in the prem.?

They know how to achieve that as well.....:-)

We Only Need One Half!

Alrite me brother, where yo bin?

Bloody hell Max, it was only a £5 bet, cheer up mate (mind you, you haven't heard the forfeit yet ;-)

WALL HEATH BAGGIE

I a'int going to be Kev's Bull for a starter .

Max as the front end and Mboy as the back end. I'd pay good money to see that. The return of Mad Cow Disease.

Betty wow except me as I'm ony a week-end drunk, so ony classed as mildly in danger!

Adeu

Shropshirebaggy

Max, we ain't safe yet however, Cardiff can't catch us except by a mathematical miracle and Fulham, Norwich, Sunderland would have to get to 37 points to go above us with our goal difference, meaning all have to win 2 games.

Norwich have Man Utd and Arsenal to play and Sunderland also have to play United I think so whilst its not confirmed I'd be staggered if we were playing Championship football next season.

I said at the start of the season we'd be ok, I've never seen anything this season to make me think different. You said we were doomed a week or so back, you changed your mind yet?

WALL HEATH BAGGIE

SHROPSHIRE

I remember you saying that we would have a good season !!!!!! hardly been that now has it ? . You have not seen anything to think different ???? i can only assume you have had your head in the clouds of love or you a'int seen many games or you really a'int gotta clue what your watching .

IF we stay up , i can only say that we will have got away with blue murder because quite frankly we deserve to go down and IF we stay up much will need to change if we are to survive next season.

Doomed ? probably not but funnier things have happened .

We Only Need One Half!

I dun know Max, we are currently occupying the highest place Wolves ever finished in.

And you try telling them that was a crap season and see what happens!

Shropshirebaggy

Max

The teams that finish in the bottom 3 after everyone has played 38 Premier League games will deserve to go down, the league table doesn't lie. If Albion are one of those teams, which I don't believe they will be, we will have deserved to have been relegated, no arguments.

Considering the turmoil off the pitch, this season has been nothing short of miraculous!

I'll admit to being a glass half full sort of person and I make no apologies for that, however, I believe my exact words were 'I believe we will be ok' however I also said that we'd struggle to repeat our 8th place finish of last season.

For the record, I remain unconvinced by Pepe Mel however for the time being, as it looks like he will keep us up barring any major disasters, I'm prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt. Dolally said he can only really be judged when he has had a say on who to bring in, both in terms of player signings and backroom staff, and I tend to agree with him on that, if not much else, so we'll watch the close season with interest.

As far as having my head in the clouds of love goes, I did get married on 15th March so you could be right on that, she is a Stoke STH incidentally so they'd better not send us down or my life will be unbearable this summer!!

do lallytap

Well done baggies but my god can you stop putting us through it !!!

Sess was fast, dangerous and a right pain in the butt all afternoon but to me Foster edged it, that one handed save to his bottom right was truly world class and you could see that he wasn't going to let any of them past him so he was my MOTM, he kept us in the game, especially the first half where it could have been much different.

Now....and this is to a certain poster who thinks that saying a player is poor is derogatory....wasn't that MUCH better without Ridgwell and Medway.....that isn't derogatory its actually FACT.....derogatory is where you wish him more injury and if you bothered to read my post on Ridgwell you would have seen it.

I thought Billy Jones was fantastic also and I know Berahino fluffed a couple but I put that down to not being match sharp and I really hope he starts against Arsenal

The fans were great once again and the Liquidator helped, I know a few don't like swearing but as long as I have been going up the Albion swearing has always been there, it's part and parcel of the game, it's when you hear comments like the ones at Everton about Sinclairs Mrs and Len Fairclough that is embarrassing.

Great game, hard fought battle which has done us the world of good and put us in great stead for the Arsenal game where I am really looking forward to it and I do think we can shock them....as long as we don't sit back and try to absorb the pressure, we need to get at them !

OLE !!!

Cyril

DoLall. Derogatory means insulting or disrespectful. I think you have the phrase 'adding insult to injury' mixed up in your head somewhere. What I did notice is,

take out your paragraph on Ridgewell and your post is worth reading.

Now, as a punishment, you must stand in front of a mirror and say:

"I like Liam Ridgewell, he is a brilliant player". 100 times should do it. Whoever witnesses this penance must report back to me on here. Go to it !!!
