Nicolas Anelka's Brazil move is off

Brazilian club Atletico Mineiro today claimed they had pulled the plug on a deal to sign disgraced Albion striker Nicolas Anelka.

A club director said the move was off after the Frenchman took too long to arrive in Belo Horizonte. Anelka, 35, sacked by the Baggies last month following his controversial 'quenelle' gesture, has reportedly been photographed in Kuwait this week at an Islamic conference.
