West Brom facing injury crisis ahead of Cardiff City clash

Albion Pepe Mel was today facing a mounting injury crisis ahead of Saturday's crucial clash with Cardiff after Gareth McAuley and Victor Anichebe joined his growing list of casualties.

Mel was today awaiting updates on the pair, who both limped off during Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Hull. The Spaniard is already without the suspended Jonas Olsson and the injured duo of Chris Brunt and Diego Lugano for Saturday while Billy Jones and Morgan Amalfitano missed the Hull game with hamstring problems and are battling to recover for the weekend.

"There is a problem and it's a worry for us," admitted Mel. "We need everyone to be available for us at this stage of the season."
