Ben Foster hits out at West Brom over Shane Long sale

Goalkeeper Ben Foster today hit out at West Brom for selling Shane Long as he insisted his former team-mate is no cheat.

Hull-City-sign-Shane-Long
Shane Long moved to Hull City in January for a reported £7 million.

The Baggies No.1 defended Ireland striker Long after he was accused of diving to win new club Hull a penalty against his former employers on Saturday.

And Foster lifted the lid on the anger of Albion’s players over the £7m January sale of Long, who netted Hull’s second goal in their 2-0 victory at the KC Stadium.

“We had him and sometimes I think ‘why did we let him go?’ to be honest,” said Foster.

“It’s not even hindsight. He was one of our best players from the last couple of years.

“There would have been a lot of takers for Shane and it’s disappointing that he’s no longer here. But we can’t look at that or blame that."

West Brom's Ben Foster
West Brom's Ben Foster has criticised Albion's decision to sell Shane Long

Albion sold Long for a fee that could rise to £7m in a controversial January deal that was criticised by many fans.

The Ireland international had just six months remaining on his contract and had rejected two offers of a new deal, although the Baggies had an option to extend his existing deal for another season.

Foster said: “You’ve also got to look at the six months he would have given you. He would have given you six months of exactly what he does – hard work, 110 per cent.

“If you had asked the players, we would have liked to have seen him stay.

“It’s a business at the end of the day, so it’s out of our hands.”

Long angered Baggies fans when he tumbled on 31 minutes to win his side a penalty despite replays suggesting no contact from defender Craig Dawson.

But Foster insisted: “I don’t think it was a penalty and I don’t think Shane was looking for a penalty.

“He’s a great guy. I know the fans weren’t too happy with him, but Shane’s not like that. He’s not one of those guys who will dive.

“He’s a real, honest hard-working guy. He knows what his role is and he does it week in, week out.”

Anelka is to blame for ALL of this.

£80k a week and Long on much less and Anelka chosen before Long.

The team was "accommodated" around Anelka and look what happened.

Long was happy last season and as soon as Anelka set foot over the threshold Longs mood changed, his body language changed and he was just going through the motions....he didn't want to be here and I DID say at the start of the season that Long will be gone, you could see it but NO, I was shouted down as I will be shouted down by this post.

Now, to make it a bit more choice I will say something else....here goes, are you ready....

Foster WILL NOT be an Albion player this time next year....There you go, I have left myself open to ridicule by the certain know it alls on here but there you have it.

Now certain members of the Committee....dip yer bread and tear me apart because of the last comment but make sure you are big enough and ready to take it back when it happens....My guess is they would all disappear back into the darkness like they have done with this Long diving guff

CantelloRocket 78

Yet another 'grand entrance'-

Dah, dah!!

I'm here, everybody pay attention, the Ego has Landed!!

Let's do a 'Mrs. Merton' , and have a 'heated debate'!!!

Basically ,no one's interested in you arrogantly shouting, insulting people, bangin' on and on about your 'hate' figures, being abrasive and trying to stir up unrest EVERY TIME you appear!!!

It's BORING, and the only people that usually back you up are troublemaking rival fans-

Nauseating.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....................

do lallytap

And here appears one of the Committee....didn't take long for him to surface.

So Can'tknownowt are you agreeing with my comment that a certain few berated me when I said Long wasn't happy and would go or are you trying to deflect your past behaviour by even more insults.

As far as "troublemaking rival fans"...Not ALL rival fans are troublemakers, but it seems that you have classed them all the same.

"Nauseating"....must be a bad pint you had while you watched it on the telly instead of actually going to watch "Your" team....but HEY HO, as long as yow are happy listening to your own voice

Jack the Hat

do lallytap,

First you accuse Cantello of being some sort of a member on a figurative match-day Committee, then accuse him of not going to matches. Don't wish to embarrass you but can you make your mind up.

Foot in big mouth comes to mind.

Jack,

early in the season, I mentioned I was talking to 'blogger' Warren during the Swansea game-

'Do Lally' responded with 'you were at an imaginary game, talking to imaginary people'-

a few days later 'Do' was talking to Warren on his blog!!!

A complete Clown, I'd advise people to save their breath and just ignore him......

Jack the Hat

Cantello,

I've clocked that guy ages ago.

BOING~~~~BOING~~~~J♣H.

The Real Bully Hoo.

I always remember my own predictions as well and it's a great game remembering the ones that come true and forgetting all of the others because nobody else is likely to remember them either. I always win when I play this game.

Another great game is shouting, 'I'm wonderful and I'm always right and of course all of the usual suspects will soon be on shouting me down.'

If they do come on you can say, 'I told you so.'

If they ignore you (recommended) you shout, 'see I told you I was right they're scared to come on.'

Two fantastic games because you can't lose at either of them.

CantelloRocket 78

It seems that one of my posts has been removed, I'm sure it's just a 'blip' in the system, because what I said was completely true, which must be fair enough-

I'm sure nobody has asked for it to be taken off by the mods, because some have blasted those people reporting abuse, in which case we wouldn't want anyone using double-standards, would we?

There's gotta be another reason....

ManInsider

DoLally I am not a rival fan but when Cantello questioned me I said exactly the same thing, that Foster will not be here next season, didn`t take him long to desert his beloved Blue`s when they went down, did it?

CantelloRocket 78

At the end of the day, it's very much down to opinion, difficult to say who's right and who's wrong-

given the choice, I'd personally have prefered to keep Shane, because he does have great pace, a high work rate, and it's possible Pepe might've got the best out of him - on the other hand, he's often been out with injuries, struggled to score at times, and either he or his agent wouldn't agree on a new contract, so something had to give.Maybe the key thing is many fans expected a proven striker to be brought in as a replacement for Shane, but with several strikers already here, at a high cost in transfers and salaries, the club seemed reluctant to make major transfers in January, obviously a high risk decision that rested on their shoulders.

What's now done is done, yet again we can only work with what we've got, then revue our position in the summer - whatever the situation - for now, we need to focus on what's ahead, not what's behind us.

do lallytap

"it's very much down to opinion"....YES, YES, YES....He has Long last seen the light

Pity he don't like listening to other "Opinions" though ?

We Only Need One Half!

You will find posters tend to listen to other posters opinions that don't constantly make unsubstantiated claims, over and over and over again, such as Anelka's alleged 80k p.w.

You have zero creditability for that one alone, so why would expect anyone to listen to, or care, what you think?

CantelloRocket 78

Do-

'a pity I don't listen to other's opinions'.....?

This coming from a man who regularly sticks his chest out, and arrogantly shouts on here 'I'M ALWAYS RIGHT'....???

Shouting like some teenage yob, contradicting yourself, hypocritical, throwing insults everywhere-

an absolute joke, with no credibility!!!

Statos Boring Brother

Well said Foster. Its good to see a player who is honest enough to stick up for a fellow pro and, apparently, a good mate.

It was never a penalty in a month of Sundays as Long fell over his own feet but he didn't appeal, got straight back up and was playing on. He seemed as confused as anyone when the whistle went. He was muted with his celebrations when he scored and a lot of players would have taken the opportunity to rub it in to the significant minority who gave him undeserved stick at the Albion.

Shame on the Baggies fans who gave him stick during the match, that should have been reserved for the ref and linesman. Even worse are the morons who abused him in the car park when he was with his four year old daughter. Hopefully there is CCTV in the car park at Hull and these "hard men" can be identified and punished for dragging the Baggies name through the mud.

ps, before anyone else says it I am a Wolves fan and I said the same about the cretins who had a go at Jamie O'Hara

Jack the Hat

Statos Boring Brother,

So you were at that match and your favourite local press had no bearing on your Post?, I see.

BOING~~~~BOING~~~~J♣H.

Statos Boring Brother

No I wasn't at the match but I am perfectly able to watch the incident on MotD. As for the booing of Long, a couple of my baggies mates were telling me about it in the pub on Sunday and they were embarrassed by it.

The E&S is only my favourite local press because its the only local press. Too often they just wan't to ignore the positives and push the negatives. If Wolves had lost on Saturday they would have been running a poll on whether Jacket should be sacked and printing acres of "news" about fans protests.

We Only Need One Half!

Stato, can you show me any where that says this actually happened other than in Mrs Longs imagination? Not even Shane Long has said it happened like that.

No CCTV, no complaints from Shane, no comment from Hull F.C., car park attendants, or stewards, strange don't you think?

Statos Boring Brother

I've no evidence other than what I've read in a number of papers but, unfortunately, these things happen too often because some people seem to think buying a ticket entitles them to do and say whatever they want to.

I can't see why Mrs Long would make it up if it didn't happen but I hope you're right.

We Only Need One Half!

Stato, "number of papers" ? really? can you name me half a dozen and I will have a gander.

I cant see why she would make this up either, but I can see how she could misconstrue it, 4 year old girl, group of blokes approach her Dad, instant tears, no threats, no abuse, just a crowd of blokes remonstrating with a player over what they saw as an injustice, little girl goes back (lets not forget the person moaning wasn't even there!) and tells Mum her version, Mum goes into drama Queen mode.

Given Long himself hasn't complained, or his club etc etc, don't you think that is a far more likely scenario?

JpsChampionshipdream

So the inevitable happened, Shane Long got himself a penalty (thanks to Foy) and then scores a second. JP strikes again cashing in on what was, without doubt, the best striker at the club. Every pundit you listen to says the same "can't understand why WBA sold him" they can't all be wrong. He should have been given the new contract he deserved, just like Kevin Phillips should have been rewarded a few years back, another mistake. Can't wait for the return of PO on the last day of the season.

Jack the Hat

JpsChampionshipdream,

Every pundit you listen to says the same ....

Kevin Phillips should have been rewarded a few years back, another mistake .....

Try getting your facts right before you make your post one big lie.

Obviously Long engineered his own move away from the HAWTHORNS.

Kevin was offered a twelve month contract plus another twelve months if he played in nineteen matches including substitutions.

Now that is the truth.

You know what I would like but wont get?. some facts off our powers that be.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ben says his words have been altered or misconstrude by the press.

BOING~~~~BOING~~~~J♣H.

BURNLEY BAGGIE

The first thing is why did we agree to let him be available on Saturday...? RG dropped a clanger there.

As for the game he dived pure and simple and got away with it, his second goal was down to Ridgewell showing no desire to jump for the ball. They were better than us and deserved to win.

As for Long leaving we allegedly have a football department and the person who said we should sell Long as he has found a replacement in VA should have been shot there and then and put out of his misery. But we are where we are and one thing i will say for VA is he gives his all and other players should take a leaf out of his book, Make no mistake Cardiff on Saturday is our biggest game of the season it's a game we cannot afford to lose.

I said a few weeks ago PM wasn't doing the half time team talks and this has now been confirmed i suggest on Saturday KD gets more involved before the game because we have to be ready and put Cardiff on the back foot from the start.

Does anyone remember the play off semi against Swansea 92-93 it was one of our great days in terms of crowd support. 2-1 down from the first leg and the lovely pita pata football of Ossie Ardiles. They players came out to a cauldron of noise and Swansea didn't know what hit them We were first to everything kicked lumps out of them (happy days) and went 2 up in 20 mins. I know time makes things hazy but that's how i remember it. We need the same again on Saturday because this is it s*** or bust.

Stoney Lane

I agree with every word, Ben. Shane tripped over his own feet, got up and carried on playing. There was no appeal. He was as amazed as everyone when Chris Foy - him again! - pointed to the penalty spot. SuperKev called the Albion decision 'suicidal.' Shane has already won 10 points for Hull with his goals and assists. He also has an incredible work rate and great defending ability in the air from corners. Yet we have lumbered ourselves with far less committed players. Utter madness.

Jack the Hat

Stoney,

That is where Long gets away with not getting a yellow card for diving, Throws himself on the ground, jumps up without shouting or feigning injury then takes pot luck on the referee giving a spot kick, that is how devious the guy is. Okay, some can't see through his ruse. Loves ALBION fans!, good job he doesn't hate us then.

BOING~~~~BOING~~~~J♣H.

do lallytap

An whas was that all about when Long got up clutching his face after he realised he "DIVED" ?

ShaunA180

No offence Ben, We offered Long 2 improved contracts and he turned them both down & £7 million was great business by the club. Regardless of how he played on Saturday it wasn't a pen and that changed the game for me.

He worked his socks for Hull like he did for us, But we all know how inconsistent he can be.

do lallytap

Now, Now Shaun, they will be calling you a Dingle next.

Probably one of the best posts on here Shaun, pity it will fall on a certain few deaf ears

ShaunA180

Cheers, Sadly not a dingle I was there on Saturday.

Again its the E & S beating a story out of the bushes when we should all be pulling together for the biggest match in years against Cardiff sat.

Long didn't want to be here if he did he would have a signed a new deal, and I have it on good record he was offered an excellent deal. Its all in the past now so why foster & Star have come out with all this is pathetic if you ask me.

The Real Bully Hoo.

Shun.

Nobody except the the first one to reply to you has suggested you are a Dingle. Why he thinks a sensible post like yours would fall on deaf ears is a mystery. Possibly an attempt to get you on his side.

ManInsider,

Entirely your prerogative, have a word with another fan in a different stand and I bet you both see the game different light. I'm long in the tooth you see and there was no telly for most of us in those days and never in a pub, so we chatted together about a match, but the different versions of any incident was amazing. Same as it is today somewhat.

ptrifonos

I agree with Ben Foster 100%, we should not have sold long at all let alone to a main rival. As for the penalty he fell over did not dive and did not ask for a penalty, the linesman gave it and referee agreed with him. Therefore the people responsible for Saturdays defeat is first Jeremy Peace, and second the referee not Shane long. Am also very upset disgusted by the reaction and comments by some of my fellow west brom supporters. Abuse like that towards a former player who tried his best for us cannot be justified. For these reasons my seat for the next game will be empty. Sincerely. Hall green Baggie.

The Real Bully Hoo.

Really?

WALL HEATH BAGGIE

I would like to thank Ben for giving the Anti-Albion cartel another stick to beat us with .As for Long being one of our best players well Ben i would not consider a career in Management if i were you . Anyway according to the oracle's you will not be with us next season , but do not worry because it is all Anelka's fault and not any of the other players or staff , so now you know .

Alrite Bruv, it was only 9 days ago the E&D were insisting S.C. was to blame for omitting Long in favour of Lukaku at Swansea 18 months ago for his decline in stripes, now we got some jokers telling us it was Anelka's fault.

Lets have it right, Shane Long, effort, faultless, end product, not good enough.

He is going through a purple patch with Hull at the moment, 3 goals in 8, the same has he got for us in 15 attempts this season, thats the the same goals as Sessegnon, Ancihebe, and 6 less than Beranhino, season before he got 8 in 34, season before that 8 in 32, and people think that is good enough for a Prem teams 'main' striker? I beg to differ.

So can we get over this it was wrong to sell him marlarky, he was never going to, for what ever reason I cant explain, be the finished article in blue and white, and, after his initial 'success' at Hull, I would not be surprised to see him revert to type there either.

Jackett the Hat

Brave of Ben Foster to have little digs at decisions made by the Albion hierarchy .....all this from a man who refused to represent his country at the very highest level. Nice one Ben, thanks for that !

CantelloRocket 78

Jackett the obsessed-

If you stayed away from here for only one day, you'd be shiverin' with Cold Turkey-

I can see it now-

'please let me get to the laptop, I must have just one more hit on the Baggies site, please, please, I must, I MUST......!!!!!!!'

A Bilston lad who can't stop thinkin' enviously about the glorious West Brom Blue 'n' White Stripes.....LOL.

The Real Bully Hoo.

Great to see that now you spend so much time on here you're finally supporting the club's decisions.

We Only Need One Half!

Blimey Jackett, how tenacious a link are you hunting for now lol, thats a new low even for you lol.

At least he has never refused to represent the club, at your low level, like Hennessey.

Cyril

Read 'em all. First DoLall. I tend to agree with your opening paragraph, the trouble may well be due to Anelka being signed on high wages and mainly contributing nothing. He showed his mettle when he walked away now we could do with him at his best. That whole episode stinks in my book. I also agree that if we are relegated then we will lose Foster, Mulumbu and one or two others.

BUT, you could have put those points without demanding everybody have a fight with you !!!!! When something is not a scientific FACT, it is open to opinion and discussion. At this moment you cannot PROVE we will be relegated, that Foster will leave, etc. So, no need to shout mate.

Long probably had no intention of staying with us, whatever his wife may have typed. And no, I don't think he dived. The penalty was the ref's fault. It's time for Foy and Marriner to be taken out of the game for a while, SUSPENDED in fact

as happens to players when they get it so badly wrong. At the back of my mind is a more evil thought, but I won't air it on here.

For those needing a blame culture, keep battering the Chairman and Garlick. Then they'll walk away too and we can play in Division 3. I hear Ossie is still around. As Miranda's Ma says "What fun" !

Cyril

Or even "Such Fun". Doh !

We Only Need One Half!

Cyril, I don't want to open up the whole Anelka debacle, but surely you can see his position was made untenable by the club by the conditions they tried to impose, rather than him just "walking away"?

It has occurred to me Zoopla, who he was being asked to apologies too, that company who were so outraged at his actions they did not want to be associated with the club, and who never took a purely business and financial decision to profit from the Holocaust, and were in no way trying to squeeze one last bit of publicity out of their deal, honest, have since gone on to demand their branding is removed from all shirts, and all their signs around the ground be taken down, except they haven't, have they?

Yeah, they were really outraged, weren't they. Sickening hypocrites.

Cyril

Wonoh, I have added to my own satisfaction what Anelka brought to our club. First he wasn't fit enough and rode on his reputation, then gradually he showed he could still play when he was of a mind to, then, having waited for ever, he finally scored and took the club to areas they have NEVER been in during my 70 years support. FA enquiries, accurate or not, a watching World debating what he may have meant, a damn good sponsor over-reacting no doubt, but now gone, tail between legs and no replacement in sight, Then he finally tells the World he's off, but doesn't tell his club.Just when, maybe he could have helped us avoid relegation and reclaimed his status to some degree. Sorry mate, YOU can have my share of Anelka !

Jack the Hat

From the dark side:

Joke of the season, Ken Jackett is fuming because the referee booked six wolves players in one match and are due to be hammered by an F.A. fine. Nigel Clough says his team Sheff Utd should have had two penalties. Now here is the joke, Ken accuses the referee of having a big club syndrome Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, Haa, sorry, I can't see a big club in Divi 3, Ha, Ha, Ha, Haa, no not for the life of me, Ha, Ha, Haa.

Just proves whose running the show.

Pepe Mel will get sacked for speaking out last week.

Good luck Shane Long and well done the weekend.

Just a shame it weren't in an albion shirt. That's not Mel's fault though who will ultimately pay the price.

WALL HEATH BAGGIE

Jez Peace is the Chairman and has the controlling interest in the Club , so he runs the show and this was never in any doubt .

Pepe Mel should never have been given the job in the first place .

Strange you should wish Long all the best when he ' cheated ' the Club you support on Saturday ( or pretend to support which may be nearer the truth ).

Please do call again.

Titch the Tiger

Danish Baggie you are a disgrace. You think it is ok to abuse Long's wife and daughter (not son you idiot)??? What did you think to Morrison's dive to try and get a penalty, or is it acceptable if it's a West Brom player? Hypocrite!!! Long went down, looked like he tripped himself up, got straight back up and tried to play on. It was the ref who gave the penalty not Long. I have a lot of time for Baggies fans from my time as an away supporter so I will not tar every baggie with the same brush and just class you as a bad egg. Unfortunately every club has a moron like Danish Baggie. Good luck for the rest of the season true Baggies and I hope you stay up. From a Hull City fan.

It's all a bit sad now. Take a bow all those clowns who said we finished poorly last season. We punched miles above our weight.

I don't understand why most of the posts above are having a go at each other and solving nowt.

Meanwhile 'the lads' are training hard and focussing on the next game. Aye that's grand.

Hey 'lads' - turn up. You are an embarrassment for the shirt. I swear that if players pay was performance related, you would see a different attitude. Whatever they do on the field of play they get paid for, no chance of the sack and just a mere bollockin from the manager. Whoopee doo.

Jack the Hat

Ronnie Allen,

Matches are performance related, i.e. Win bonus, crowd bonus, plus. Then if they are dropped so are their wages, the top wack is only paid so long as they are in the first team. New to football are you?.

baggiebornandbred

I was the first to admit 7m was an amazing piece of business for shane, in the prevoius year he had scored 1 goal every 4 games was absolutly woeful against southampton and bar a good 35 minutes against villa had done nothing in the way of taking us anyway

ben foster is being honest enough coming out saying we shouldnt of sold shane long but if he starts to go does the entire old guard start to go?

As a footballing nation we have won zinch sticking to an old guard and its evident in the way we play brunt morrison reid dorrans olsson all come under scrutiny first and it is justified, i may be lighting the flame here but it might be time to start moving the old guard round a bit, im not saying bugger them off but lets give another lad a chance a young guy in the reserves alex price is the headline of all reserves games give the guy a chance thorne is in the wilderness were does it go

foster himself has been one of our best players this year along with mulumbu and gmac i cant think of anyone else outstanding who has had a great season

This is just the way i see it

Kev in Mallorca

I said it at the time, got ridiculed for it but I'll say it again, JP lost the players when he sacked Steve Clarke.

It wasn't for that reason alone but it was the "straw that broke", Ben isn't the first to criticize decisions taken by the club (ultimately JP's) and a club is going nowhere without team spirit.

The players are trying their best for Pepe but all is not well at the club, so all we can do as supporters is get behind the team for the last few matches and all do our bit to hopefully keep us in the Prem.

Then when the season finishes instead of mouthing off on here organize some sort of rebellion to somehow get JP too realize that there needs to be people with a knowledge of football involved in making decisions instead of making them solely for financial ones.

I may not have said it on here at the time but Shane Long never got through 90mins without trying to buy a free kick by "Fwowing himself to the fwor -sentchuwe'en) and to everybody who said he didn't do the same on Saturday then why did he leave his left leg behind for it to make contact with Dawson?

WALL HEATH BAGGIE

Should have sacked him earlier mate , not as if the players were doing it for him is it ?.

However we should have replaced him with a proper Manager and not the ' lame duck ' we have now . We are going down unless we perform the greatest comeback since ' Lazarus' .

Ciao .

ManInsider

WHB so do you really think any 3 of Sunderland, Palace, Cardiff and Fulham will finish above us?

WALL HEATH BAGGIE

Yep , Palace and Sunderland will finish higher. Sorry to shatter your illusions but we are truly dire.

The Real Bully Hoo.

Hi Max.

Are we really that dire?

We were without six players that are first team regulars on Saturday and Hull were pretty much full strength and have a good home record. Yet it took a terrible decision to open the scoring. We were then denied a penalty that might have given us a chance of a fightback. How dire is that?

Take Ivanovic, Terry, Oscar, Hazard, Willian and Ramires out of the Chelsea team and tell me they would be as effective, bearing in mind they have a far bigger and better squad than us.

Captain Mardon International

Just put my record on again, big mistake in selling Shane Long and big mistake in sacking Steve Clarke!!!!!

Albion til I die!

WALL HEATH BAGGIE

And you are wrong on both accounts .

Buckswolf

Listen - have you lot thought about signing that Shane Long? He's getting loads of goals and just the sort of striker you need to get yourself out of the relegation pickle you're in!

CantelloRocket 78

Buckswolf-

problem is, Shane Long also started well with us, then quickly had lengthy spells of injury and goal droughts - it's very early days, but he may eventually give up football, and become an actor - although some believe he already has......

The Real Bully Hoo.

Pass the needle and thread, my sides are splitting.

The Real Bully Hoo.

That was a response to Buckswolf as Rocket's wasn't on when I posted.

The Real Bully Hoo.

Nowhere near as awkward as your attempt at humour.

Buckswolf

Even awkwarder….

Scimitar

I wish we had a player who was worth 7 million quid! Mind you, we would not have him for long as Moxey would sell him in a heartbeat.

FootballRealist

This current Baggies side is a mid table championship side at best, the great JW quoted recently " this side is 7 players short of a team capable of staying in the Prem " at the moment we will struggle to win another match, JP and Co should hang themselves from the floodlight's to sell Shane Long and moreover make way to accommodate Anelka the then manager should join them hanging from the same place. The Baggies are a to become a yo yo club again where all other clubs look to take 3pts whichever league they play in.

CantelloRocket 78

Realist?????

You suggest the Chairman, the Board, and the Head Coach should hang themselves off the floodlights - what a realistic idea!!!!!

And having said this in public, who do you then suggest should take the place of all these people? - Flash Gordon or Emperor Ming???

A better suggestion than nobody, I guess???

Honestly, some of the complete trash we get on here shows how backwards the human race is developing in the 21st Century......

The Real Bully Hoo.

Who is the great JW? Johnny Walker, Jimmy White, June Whitfield?

Funny you refer to "we will struggle to win another match." but later forget yourself and say "whichever league they play in."

If you think this then fair enough, you may even be right as it's all conjecture but at least have the bottle to declare it in your true colours.

BrierleyHillOriginalBaggie

Lots of non league fans around lately

Are they on a winter break

CantelloRocket 78

BHOB,

The wolves fans were all watchin' 'El Classico' the other night, deciding whether they're more like Real Madrid or maybe Barcelona, now that they've surpassed Leyton Orient in the third division.......LOL.........:-)

The Real Bully Hoo.

Rocket.

You're exaggerating again there. What they were saying is, 'what they playin'?'

BrierleyHillOriginalBaggie

Burnley why you blaming RG for allowing Long to play

He's their player they can do what they like, they bought him

Clubs prevent their players out on loan from playing against his own club

Buckswolf

You mean like the clause Villa put into Stephen Ireland's permanent contract at Stoke that stopped him playing against them the same weekend Long was scoring against your lot?

We Only Need One Half!

Bucks, I have sometimes wondered what would happen if ever you meet the mighty Fletcher, but seeing he just changes clubs after getting them relegated from the Prem, I guess we will never know.

Buckswolf

Fair point half - he's also injured most of the time so that cuts the chances down too - but at least Fletcher has the manners to wait till he's relegated to pack his bags - rather than jump ship mid -season!

We Only Need One Half!

Well actually Bucks........nah, I have no answer to that lol
