The controversial Baggies forward promised to "swallow his pride" if he remains at the Hawthorns after tonight's 11pm transfer deadline.

But, in a cryptic reply to a supporter, the 31-year-old suggested talks with Albion over a possible departure are still taking place.

"We will see later today," said Odemwingie.

"The talk and answer I wanted from the club, I got it yesterday. Could it be late now?"

And Odemwingie hinted he remains frustrated with the criticism he has received since handing in a transfer request.

"Things are getting worse or funnier," said the Nigeria international. "Some say any press is good. Never seen anyone who will want this kind off press hahaha it's not funny!

Fans then told Odemwingie he will have bridges to build with fans if he remains for the rest of the season.

And the forward responded: "I am ready to swallow any pride if there is any inside me, cos I want to make it to heaven!"

Odemwingie was then asked to apologise to fans if his move to QPR does not take place and the striker responded: "I apologise in advance. Even if I leave.

"I am loved at the ground and I love them too. Not everyone maybe. I accept (that) as normal."

Odemwingie has been a regular on Twitter since submitting a transfer request last Friday, with his tweets highly critical of the club and his critics.
