West Brom boss Steve Clarke today insisted Jonas Olsson will not leave the Hawthorns in January after fresh reports linked the Swede with a £3million exit.

Morning press stories claimed the centre-back had a £3million release clause inserted in the new four-year contract he penned last summer, with Arsenal reportedly preparing a bid.

Clarke today refused to discuss the reported exit clause, but insisted none of his key first-teamers will leave.

He said: "I don't do contracts, it's not my job and I didn't know there was a story about it. Contracts are personal, at least I think they are personal.

"I don't think it's right for me to sit and discuss the ins and outs of Jonas's contract at this moment in time.

"But why would I expect to lose him in January? It's complete speculation about Jonas Olsson. January is the 'silly season.'

"We can hang on to every single player. We don't have to sell anybody. Speculation is natural because people make up stories to generate the interest. I know they make them up.

"But it's not unsettling for me in anyway because I know that, come the February 1, the players that I need to be here will still be here."

Clarke insisted he still expects a quiet January transfer window, but confirmed yesterday's revelation that the Baggies will listen to offers for unsettled midfielder Graham Dorrans.

The head coach said: "It doesn't look as though there will be too much movement here. Graham came to see me a couple of weeks ago.

"He said, not just because of what has been happening this season but in previous seasons, he feels as though he needs a fresh challenge. We had an amicable discussion .

"We came to the agreement that, if something came up in January that was good for the club and good for Graham, we would listen to the possibility that Graham could move."

And Clarke insisted he will not need to replace Dorrans should he leave this month.

The Baggies chief added: "He will go if there is a suitable offer for him and it suits the club and it suits Graham.

"I have got a replacement, I have got George Thorne back from loan."
