Marc-Antoine Fortune aims to kick on
Wednesday 25th January 2012, 12:29PM GMT.
West Brom striker Marc-Antoine Fortune today thanked fans for sticking by him as he laid out his ambitions to “kick on” from his impressive first-team comeback.
Fortune was a surprise inclusion in Saturday’s 2-1 win at Stoke – his first Premier League start since last season.
And, cheered on by Albion’s travelling fans, he made a key contribution to their first victory at Stoke in 30 years.
“I really would like to say thank you to the fans because they really supported me,” said Fortune. “It means a lot to me because it has been a difficult time. I can see they are always behind me and I hope I can kick on.
“It has been a long time waiting for my first start of the season and I was really excited. I thought I gave 100 per cent.
“It’s always difficult not playing.
“It has been hard but I’m a professional and I keep working. I always do my best in training to show I’m ready to play.”
