Time to map out a plan for Villa's future

Zoltan Gera could return to West Brom first-team squad at Arsenal
Wednesday 2nd November 2011, 11:32AM GMT.
West Brom could hand Zoltan Gera a return to action at Arsenal on Saturday after withdrawing him from reserve action to protect him for the weekend.
The Hungary international, who has yet to figure in a first-team game since re-signing for the Baggies in the summer, was due to face Chelsea at the Hawthorns last night in a second reserve outing in two weeks.
But boss Roy Hodgson withdrew the former Fulham man from the second-string game with assistant head coach Michael Appleton admitting the 32-year-old is being considered for senior duty.
Appleton confirmed: “He’s was pulled out with a view to Saturday. He’s had three weeks of training now and what you have to weigh up is what’s best.”

About time to,my hard earned season ticket money been paying his wages to sit on the bench.
Great, now he can score against wolves, like he did when the Baggies beat ‘em four times in one season.

I must admit I’ve always been a fan of Thomas and the dimension he gave us as a tricky wide man, but he’s just not flourishing with Roy’s more cautious approach. Perhaps Gera may bring us something in that role.
Marion
Whilst I understand the ‘I pay their wages’ victim-stance and think player wages in general are obscene, you sort of knew what the deal was before you purchased your season ticket?!! It’s not like you were forced to buy one, promised influence in team selection or that your money would go towards a comfy new chair for you to sit on?! So it’s difficult to fall back on that argument later on?
Also, between us we cover around 20% of Albion’s wage bill, so it’s not really us who pays their wages at all…..

Dont get suckered in mate, you know who this poster is.

1. So instead, you’ll be paying the wages of another player to warm the bench – good logic.
3. I can’t remember Thomas having a good game since we beat Arsenal last year. I wonder if he has lost a little pace as time has gone by as he now seems much more reluctant to take a player on. Having said that, I’d be tempted to give him a chance to prove his point against his former club this weekend with Gera initially on the bench. I’d also like to see the same squad as last week but a 4-5-1 employed because if we give Arsenal, and in particular RvP, the space that we gave Liverpool – they’re going to have a field day.

Warren.
I’m surprised at you.
Rocket.
I’ve just seen your post about the impartial Sun reporter. I was gobsmacked although I suppose it’s part of their charm offensive to get back into the good books of Liverpuddlians and we all thought no true Liverpool fan would buy the Sun never mind write propaganda for them.

3, though you are right in one way but if you look at it the other way no paying customers no football club, so im afraid it is us who pay wage bill, why you think they try and drain every last penny out of us.

6 Bully,
shocking,wasn’t it?
In case anyone wonders what we’re talking about,it’s the Albion-Liverpool match report in The Sun on monday.
It was written by a life-long Liverpool fan,and is so biased I’m surprised it wasn’t printed in red ink.
Re:Numpty clacka-
this is the reason I ‘confront’ our resident idiot, because I know Warren personally, and he’s a very nice guy,but he takes everyone here at face value, trusting they’re genuine fans, also people like JJ at post 5 are probably not aware who he really is.
Then again,at the same time, clacka’s worst nightmare is for no one to notice him,it’s probably a cry for attention from a very sad soul.
He seriously needs to seek help.

Probably not but we all know a team that will be quaking in their boots don’t we? Even if they are the ones that come up the ankle and have big round solid toecaps on.

10 Lonely-
talking about old players (I mean REALLY old),I see that Jody Craddock is thinking of retiring.
Apparently,he went in to Mick’s office and told him that a player KNOWS when it’s time to go,because he can no longer keep up with the opposition on the pitch, and finds that he’s making more and more mistakes.
Mick suddenly went very pale, jumped up,and ran outside.
When he came back,Jody said ‘what’s wrong, were you feeling ill?’
Mick said ‘no,after what you told me,I expected to see the rest of the first team waiting to see me outside………….’

The ‘your players are hardly superstars’ slant might carry a bit more weight if your team didn’t contain Foley, Elokobi, Berra, Stearman, Craddock, Ward, Henry, Kightly, Ebanks-Blake, Vokes and once-capped Guadeloupe international superstar Zubar…..
Marion
You do know the Woodman pub’s not there anymore…….

3 Who is flourishing with Roys cautious approach?Mulumbo,PO,Shorey,Scharner,JT,Brunt, Reid,Morrison, its no coincidence they having there worst season, its down to Roys devensive tactics,Foster seems to be the only one benefiting because he`s seeing more of the ball,i cant really see how an half fit Gera is going to help us.

18 Bobby(numpty from the wolves site)-
if you’re gonna spend the whole of your life pretending to be an Albion fan,you could at least learn to spell the player’s names right.
We’re not the sharpest tool in the box,are we?

I watched Valero play last night,( in champions league)what a class player he was, made me think though, what happened to the 5 million we got for him.

MARION (17)
“I can spell” ??. Judging by your name I doubt that very much as you seem to be struggling with Moron!!
You claim to have been “a genuine fan for years and sit in the rainbow after a couple of pints in the Woodman pub” (Post 9) which somewhat suggests a pre-match ritual. However, only 8 posts later you say you have only ever been in the Woodman once. A fine case of self-contradiction if ever I saw one.
What an aerosol!! (I can’t spell either)

Not sure what the ‘i can spell’ remark was aimed at but evidently you can’t as devensive isn’t a word.

JR then suddenly appears.
If you don’t know mate then read the accounts. Whichever expenditure item it went on, you’d bet it was better spent than the £7m that went on Roger Johnson…..
