Paul Scharner will miss Arsenal game for West Brom but could face Bolton

West Brom midfielder Paul Scharner will miss Saturday’s trip to Arsenal with a knee injury – but hopes to be back to face Bolton two weeks later.

The Austria international revealed on his Facebook page today that scans had uncovered ligament damage, sustained in a collision with Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam during the 2-0 Hawthorns defeat.

But Scharner hopes to be back when the Baggies return to action after the two-week international break that follows the Emirates Stadium trip.

He said: “The target is to be back again on the pitch for the Bolton game. Hopefully it will be just this one game against Arsenal I will miss.

“I have to think positive now and work hard to come back in time.”

    The Real Bully Hoo.

I think he’ll be a massive miss on Saturday and the sooner he’s back the better.

JT doesn’t know why we can’t beat Arsenal again. I suggest he has a look at the video of last year’s game and compare his own performance with the one from Saturday. That goes for a number of other players as well.

Having said that I don’t think players do it on purpose we just have a lot of players off colour at the same time. Because of this I think more than ever we need to keep it tight. Possibly easier said than done against Arsenal.

    Jerome,
As Bully says, we will need a tip-top performance from every one who pulls on a shirt and a solid defence. I believe it possible if we are 110%. Get it on.

We’ve got the gas supply back on and central heating so I don’t hate everybody anymore. I’ve always been very forgiving in nature. This match will be a team in blistering form against one that’s lost it temporarily. It’s sad that Scharner is unfit but I saw signs of Dorrans showing what we used to see. Now we need Tchoyi to show the best side of him although to be fair to both strikers, the service was lamentable. That said, you sometimes have to “go and fetch, good doggie”
and show some flair. Arsenal will let the opposition play so a good game could be on the cards. I hope. I need a lift out of the droppings of life.

This is the best news of the week…shame he isnt out for the season…awful player. I could do a better job in the middle of the park than this carthorse.

Now Mr Roy , stop this long ball nonsense get it on the floor and play some football. we do not wish to become stoke of the west midlands. Get Dorrans in the team, play Brunt off Odemwingie, Tchoyi right midfield.

Get well soon Bomber, Mr West Bromwich Albion.

Joe, all I can say to you is that it’s a good job you are not West Brom’s Head Coach, utter tosh!

If we play out of our skins anything could happen against Arsenal, however if we give the same performance as we did on Saturday then we have no chance. I really fear a good hiding so we can’t afford any passengers.

If you’re happy we drew with Swansea clap you’re hands
If you’re happy we drew with Swansea cus we came from 2-0 down
If you’re happy we drew to Swansea clap you’re hands
If your happy with any selection clap you’re hands
If your happy with any selection clap you’re hands
    If a strikers a defender and a centre half’s a right back
If you’re happy with selection clap you’re hands
If you love that we keep losing clap you’re hands
If you love that we keep losing clap you’re hands

I saw that but I think I dismissed it as a figment of my imagination. I don’t know what’s the worse the sentiment behind it or the execution as it’s hard to read it without cringing. Still as you say a quick look over there puts our own few ‘doom and gloom’ merchants into perspective.
