Loan interest hots up in fringe members of West Brom squad
Tuesday 25th October 2011, 10:45AM BST.
West Brom midfielder George Thorne could join Derby County or Birmingham on loan after Hawthorns team-mate Luke Daniels linked up with Southend for a month.
Brighton are also keeping tabs on Baggies defender Gabriel Tamas, although the Romania international is currently recovering from a thigh injury, as they weigh up another loan swoop on Roy Hodgson’s squad.
Goalkeeper Daniels today finalised a 28-day move to Roots Hall as cover for injured shot-stopper Glenn Morris and the 23-year-old could make his Shrimpers debut in the League Two game at Barnet tonight.
Thorne could be the next Baggies youngster to leave the Hawthorns temporarily in search of first-team football, with both Blues and Derby reportedly keen to add him to their Championship campaigns.
The 18-year-old academy graduate made his Premier League debut at Newcastle in Albion’s final game of last season and remains highly-rated by Baggies head coach Roy Hodgson.
